Sat, February 20:

Hop aboard our deluxe motor coach with friends, old and new, as we leave for sunny St. Pete Beach, Florida on this spectacular getaway. We will travel south to our first night’s accommodation at the Comfort Inn, Harrisonburg (540-534-0060). After checking in, we will enjoy an included dinner at the Wood Grill Buffet. You are requested to pack an overnight bag for the first 2 and last 2 hotel nights travel as luggage assistance is not available.

Sun, February 21:

A continental breakfast is included at the hotel this morning before we continue southbound and into warmer weather! Our accommodations this evening are at the brand new Drury Plaza Hotel Savannah Pooler (912) 330-0400 in Pooler, GA. Dinner will be at your leisure during the included Drury 5:30 Kickback, featuring a rotating menu of hot dinnertime food and cold beverages. Soft drinks are available, along with beer, wine and mixed drinks for guests age 21 and older, subject to hotel and local policies. Complimentary popcorn and soda are also available during the evening.

Mon, February 22:

A full Drury breakfast, featuring a variety of hot and cold selections, is included at the hotel this morning before our departure for the Florida state line and the completion of our journey to the RumFish Beach Resort (727-360-5551). Games and movies aboard the motorcoach will once again help us pass the travel time. Upon arrival, enjoy a welcome drink as we check in and settle into our home for the next thirteen nights. Located along the beautiful shoreline of St. Pete Beach, RumFish offers four pools, including an adults-only pool, beach loungers, whirlpools, multiple restaurants and bars, and an impressive 33,500-gallon aquarium. Throughout our stay, guests may relax on the beach, enjoy resort activities and entertainment, play mini golf or pickleball, gather for campfire s’mores, or take advantage of weekly dining and beverage specials offered at select resort restaurants and bars. Activities, events and schedules are subject to change. Dinner will be on your own this evening at the resort or your choice of nearby restaurants.

Tues, February 23:

Today you are free to relax, settle in and explore St. Pete Beach at your own pace. First-time visitors may want to become familiar with the resort and surrounding area, while returning travelers may immediately head for the pool or beach! Spend the day enjoying the sunshine, taking a peaceful walk along the shoreline, relaxing with a good book or exploring nearby restaurants and shops. Our time in St. Pete Beach allows you to enjoy each day as you please or join any of the optional excursions being offered. Dinner will be on your own this evening. Don’t forget your sunscreen!

Wed, February 24:

Enjoy another full day to create your own perfect Florida experience. Relax beside the pool, stroll along the beach, browse nearby shops, meet friends for lunch or take advantage of the resort amenities. The local trolley offers another convenient way to explore the surrounding communities, restaurants and attractions. As the afternoon winds down, be sure to find a comfortable spot to enjoy one of St. Pete Beach’s beautiful Gulf Coast sunsets. Dinner will be on your own this evening.

Thurs, February 25:

Option A: Visit The Ringling in Sarasota. The State Art Museum of Florida, is home to one of the preeminent art and cultural collections in the United States. Be sure to visit the newest exhibit, The Greatest Show On Earth® Gallery! This permanent exhibit continues the story found throughout the Circus Museum, of how Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey® grew to become one of the most well-recognized brands in the world. Your admission ticket includes the museum of art, circus museum, bayfront gardens and a self-guided visit through Ca’d’Zan, the Ringlings’ opulent 36,000 sq foot winter home. Guests not selecting this option may enjoy a free day at RumFish. Dinner will be on your own.

Fri, February 26:

Option B: It’s Florida Flea Market Day!! Today we are off to the famous Red Barn Flea Market in Bradenton. Family-owned and operated since 1981, the Red Barn combines a traditional flea market, plaza shops, food courts and an open-air farmers market inside a sprawling 145,000-square-foot complex. A treasure hunt awaits as you browse more than 600 booths and shops featuring clothing, jewelry, collectibles, gifts, home décor, fresh produce and plenty of unexpected finds. Lunch will be on your own at the market. Following our shopping adventure, Dinner Option 1 is available at Po Folks, where guests can enjoy a homestyle meal before returning to the resort. The daytime excursion and dinner are separate purchase options. Guests not selecting Option B may enjoy a free day.

Sat, February 27:

Today is completely yours to enjoy! Sleep in, take a peaceful morning walk along the beach, lounge beside the pool or explore more of the St. Pete Beach area. You may want to revisit a favorite restaurant, spend time shopping or simply relax while enjoying the sunshine and refreshing Gulf breeze. With no scheduled activities, you can make the day as restful or adventurous as you please. Meals will be on your own today.

Sun, February 28:

Settle into the easy rhythm of Florida living with another leisurely day at the resort. Enjoy the warm sunshine, beautiful beach and laid-back surroundings. Meet up with fellow travelers for a casual meal, visit a nearby attraction or simply find your favorite spot beside the pool or Gulf of Mexico. Today is yours to enjoy exactly as you wish, and dinner will be on your own at your choice of local restaurants.

Mon, March 1:

Option C: Today we will step back into 19th-century Florida with a visit to Gamble Plantation Historic State Park in Ellenton. The beautifully preserved mansion, surrounded by stately columns, historic grounds and towering trees, is the only surviving plantation house in South Florida. During our visit, we will learn about the mansion’s construction, the plantation’s history and the people and events connected to the property. After exploring the grounds and hearing the stories of this fascinating historic site, we will enjoy additional time in the Ellenton area before returning to St. Pete Beach. Dinner Option 2 is available at Finley’s Irish Pub, where they serve traditional Irish dishes as well as typical American dishes. The daytime excursion and dinner are separate purchase options. Guests not selecting Option C may enjoy a free day at the resort.

Tues., March 2:

Option D: Today’s adventure takes us to historic Ybor City, one of Tampa’s most colorful and culturally rich neighborhoods. Once celebrated as the “Cigar Capital of the World,” Ybor City still showcases its heritage through historic brick cigar factories, traditional cigar shops, Cuban influences, colorful architecture and lively streets. We will have time to experience the neighborhood before enjoying a meal at the legendary Columbia Restaurant, a Florida tradition serving Spanish and Cuban favorites since 1905. Guests not selecting this option may enjoy a free day at RumFish.

Wed, March 3:

Option E: Spend the day along the waterfront at John’s Pass Village and Boardwalk, one of the area’s most popular coastal destinations. This lively waterfront village is filled with more than 100 shops, restaurants and water-related businesses. Browse for Florida souvenirs, explore specialty shops and enjoy beautiful views of the local waterways. We will then board a dolphin-watching cruise in search of bottlenose dolphins, seabirds and other Gulf Coast wildlife. This evening, Dinner Option 3 is available at Campanella’s Italian Restaurant before returning to the resort. The daytime excursion and dinner are separate purchase options. Guests not selecting Option E may enjoy a free day at RumFish.

Thurs, March 4:

Option F: Today we are heading to Plant City for the opening day of the Florida Strawberry Festival! This popular celebration honors Florida’s strawberry harvest and the agricultural traditions of the surrounding area. Enjoy agricultural and livestock exhibits, arts and crafts, vendors, contests, attractions and live entertainment. Of course, no visit would be complete without sampling a few strawberry favorites, including freshly picked berries, strawberry shortcake and other delicious festival treats. Once we have enjoyed our fill of strawberries and festival fun, we will return to the resort. Meals will be on your own at the festival. Dinner Option 4 is available at Shrimpy’s Waterfront in Treasure Island. The daytime excursion and dinner are separate purchase options. Guests not selecting Option F may enjoy a free day.

Fri, March 5:

After several exciting excursions, today gives you another opportunity to slow down and enjoy everything the resort and surrounding area have to offer. Spend your time at the beach, relax beside the pool, revisit a favorite nearby restaurant, take a trolley ride or pick up a few final souvenirs. Tonight, enjoy another beautiful sunset over the Gulf of Mexico and reflect on the wonderful experiences we have shared. Meals will be on your own today.

Sat, March 6:

Option G: Today we are off to the Suncoast Broadway Dinner Theatre in Hudson, Florida for a noon performance of the legendary musical Les Misérables! Prior to the show, enjoy a buffet featuring American-style cuisine, Show Palace favorites and show-themed entrées, with the menu specially selected for each production. Set in 19th-century France, this unforgettable musical tells a powerful story of hope, justice, sacrifice, love and redemption, with a celebrated score featuring favorites such as “I Dreamed a Dream,” “On My Own,” “Bring Him Home,” “One Day More” and “Master of the House.” Following the performance, we will return to St. Pete Beach, where the remainder of the day and dinner will be on your own. Guests not selecting this option may enjoy their final full day at the resort.

Sun, March 7:

Today we say goodbye to our wonderful hosts at the RumFish Beach Resort and begin our journey north. Games, movies and activities aboard the motorcoach will help make the travel time enjoyable as we share memories of our Florida vacation. Our destination tonight is the Drury Plaza Hotel Savannah Pooler (912-330-0400) in Pooler, Georgia. Dinner will be at your leisure during the included Drury 5:30 Kickback, featuring a rotating menu of hot dinnertime food and cold beverages. Soft drinks are available, along with beer, wine and mixed drinks for guests age 21 and older, subject to hotel and local policies. You are requested to pack an overnight bag for the final two hotel nights, as luggage assistance will not be available.

Mon, March 8:

A full Drury breakfast, featuring a variety of hot and cold selections, will be available prior to departure. We will continue traveling north through the Carolinas and into Virginia while enjoying games and movies aboard the motorcoach. Appropriate comfort and meal stops will be made throughout the day. Tonight’s accommodations are at the Comfort Inn, Harrisonburg, Virginia (540-534-0060). Dinner will be on your own this evening at your choice of nearby restaurants. Please continue using your overnight bag tonight.

Tues, March 9:

An included continental breakfast will be available at the Comfort Inn before we begin the final day of our journey. Settle in for a comfortable ride home with games, movies and time to reflect on our wonderful Florida getaway. We will return to our original departure locations with lasting memories of beautiful beaches, exciting excursions, delicious meals and new friendships made along the way. Most of all, we return home refreshed after a wonderful escape from the Northeast winter chill!
