Fri, February 20:
Hop aboard our deluxe motor coach with friends, old and new, as we leave for sunny St. Pete Beach, Florida on this spectacular getaway. We will travel south to our first night’s accommodation at the Hilton Garden Inn, Fredericksburg (540-322-4800). Dinner will be on your own at your choice of the hotel restaurant or Wegman’s Café next door to the hotel. You are requested to pack an overnight bag for the first 2 and last 2 hotel nights travel as luggage assistance is not available.
Sat, February 21:
A continental breakfast is included at the hotel this morning before we continue southbound and into warmer weather! Our accommodations this evening are at the brand new Drury Plaza Hotel Savannah Pooler (912) 330-0400 in Pooler, GA. Dinner will be at your leisure this evening at the included Drury Kickback supper & cocktail hour.

A full Drury breakfast is included at the hotel this morning before our departure for the Florida state line, just ahead of us and the completion of our journey to
our accommodations at the RumFish Beach at Tradewinds (727-360-5551). Florida’s natural beauty is waiting to welcome you with her white sandy beaches, sparkling blue water, beautiful warm sunshine and the most beautiful sunsets ever! We are located directly on the beach looking at the Gulf of Mexico! The Rum Fish Beach Resort offers everything to make your vacation a very special time to remember. Choose from a Standard, Resort View, or Gulf Front room. Standard rooms are not poolside or gulf front. Gulf Front rooms have a balcony or patio and are waterfront. All standard and Resort View rooms have 2 double beds; all Gulf Front rooms have 2 queen beds. All rooms offer a microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, toaster, hair dryer, iron and ironing board and free movie channels. The property includes restaurants on or very near the hotel; Palm Court Italian, The Sand Box Beach Lounge, The Toasted Monkey, Gulfside Kitchen, Rum Fish Grill, Jimmy B’s Beach Bar, Coconut Charlie’s Beach Bar, Salty’s Tiki Bar and Beach Lounge, Playa Taco, Coastal Pizza, Pete’s Bistro and an Ice Creamery. Today you are free to relax, settle in and explore St. Pete at your own pace. For first timers, it’s your opportunity to orient yourself with the hotel and surrounding area while our veteran travelers will immediately head to the pool and beach to relax by the sea! Our time in St. Pete will allow you to spend each day on your own as you like, or you may choose any of our offered optional tours and dinner excursions.
Dinner Option #1 is available tonight at Shrimpy’s Waterfront in Treasure Island.
Tues, February 24:
Option A: St Petersburg Jungle Prada Site History Tour. This tour is an immersive cultural experience at a one-of-a-kind historic landmark where 1,000 years of Florida history come together. There will also be time to roam and enjoy this lush and awesome setting. We will return to the resort following our exploration with a local historian. Option 2: Dinner this evening will be at Finley's, an Irish Pub just up the road in Largo serving traditional Irish dishes as well as typical American dishes. We will return to the hotel after dinner.
Wed, February 25:
A day to be spent enjoying all the resort has to offer or to follow your personal choices available in the area. Dinner will be on your own this evening.
Thurs, February 26:
Today, we will visit Option B: The Strawberry Festival. This is Florida’s most popular festival featuring as the name suggests, all things Strawberry! View exhibits, competitions, arts and crafts vendors and free entertainers and once we’ve had our fill of strawberry shortcake and activities we will return to the Resort and dinner will be on your own this evening.
Fri, February 27:
It’s Florida Flea Market Day!! Option C is a trip to the famous Red Barn Flea Market in Bradenton, FL. Owned and operated by the same family since 1981, the Red Barn combines a traditional flea market, plaza shops, food courts and open-air farmer’s markets in a 145,000 sq. ft. “barn”. Enjoy air-conditioned, indoor shopping, fresh produce (Florida tomatoes!!), entertainment, and a variety of prepared foods. A treasure hunt awaits, as you stroll through more than 600 flea market booths and shops. Following our day at the Red Barn we will return to our hotel. Option 3: Dinner this evening is at Po Folks, a local restaurant renowned for their wonderful chicken dinners.
Sat, February 28:
Option D: is The Tampa Bay History Center whose exhibits are spectacular, along with Tampa’s Riverwalk, an optional River boat ride and an opportunity for lunch on your own provided by Florida’s famous Columbia Restaurant makes a perfect day.
Option 4: Dinner this evening is at Rooster Fish in Largo, a wonderful restaurant in business for 60 years serving great steaks, fresh seafood and of course burgers.
Sun, March 1:
Today is a free day to relax and enjoy St Pete Beach and the lovely Rum Fish Resort. Later, this evening’s dinner will be on your own at your choice of local restaurants.
Mon., March 2:
Option E: Today is Spring Training Baseball Day at George Steinbrenner Stadium!! Game to be announced when the Spring Training schedule is released. But…please let us know if you would like to attend a game! Dinner is on your own this evening. Please Note: Game tickets are mobile entry and the MLB Ballpark App is required on a mobile device to receive your ticket and enter the stadium. Dinner will be on your own this evening.
Tues, March 3:
Option F: Today will be a casual day at the resort until our late afternoon departure for our Coastal Cruise that features a breathtaking Sunset Cruise followed by an impressive Skyway Bridge Light Show. You can bring snacks on board as much as food is not available on the cruise. We Suggest you have an early dinner before departure or plan a late dinner upon your return to the resort.
Wed, March 4:
Option G: We are off to visit a very special place, Big Cat Habitat, where animals of the wild kingdom are lovingly cared for and at times nurtured back to health. We will have a tour before the gates open to the public as well as stay for demonstrations and performances by a variety of these magnificent animals. There are tigers, including white tigers, lions, ligers & tigons, bears, primates, and a petting zoo. All meant to provide education to the public to foster appreciation of the animals and stress the importance of habitat preservation.
Option 6: Dinner this evening is at an excellent Italian restaurant, Campanella’s.
Thurs, March 5:
Option H: Today the motorcoach will make its way to the Seminole Hard Rock Casino in Tampa for several hours of gaming before returning to the resort.
Option 7: Dinner this evening will be at Buoy’s, a wonderful waterfront restaurant with a wonderful menu.
Fri, March 6:
Today is our last day to enjoy the amenities of the Rum Fish Resort and to begin the repacking of suitcases for our return journey to the great northeast!
Sat, March 7:
Option I: The Suncoast Dinner Theater with their sumptuous buffet lunch is our destination today! The performance this year is Miss Saigon. Sure to be an incredible afternoon! We will return to the hotel following the show and dinner will be on your own.
Sun, March 8:
Today is departure as we say goodbye to our wonderful hosts, at the Rum Fish Resort. Our destination tonight is the Drury Plaza Hotel Savannah Pooler (912) 330-0400 in Pooler, GA. Dinner will be at your leisure this evening at the included Drury Kickback supper & cocktail hour. You are requested to pack an overnight bag for these last 2 hotel nights as luggage assistance is not available.

We are embarking on the final day of this amazing journey, returning to New York State and our homes with lasting memories of a beautiful beach, amazing visits to some of Florida’s great attractions and most of all, escape from winter’s chill. We welcome home with an appreciation for the friends made and the acquaintances renewed!
