Please note: This tour includes a large amount of walking and standing. Participants must be able to walk to the monuments which can be up to a 1/2 mile from our bus. Those with mobility concerns are cautioned to carefully evaluate their personal level of stamina and ability. Weather appropriate clothing and cap are recommended, as well as flat comfortable shoes.

Thursday, October 16
Today we will travel south to our accommodations tonight at the Clarion Inn Falls Church-Arlington in Arlington, VA (703-532-9000). This recently renovated property features a fitness center, free wifi and an outdoor pool. All rooms include a hair dryer, coffee/tea maker, microwave and mini-fridge. Upon our arrival you will have time to relax after a day of traveling. There is an onsite restaurant as well as an IHOP next door and a few other restaurants within walking distance.
Friday, October 17:
A full breakfast is included this morning at the hotel. Ever feel like you’ve seen all that Washington, D.C. has to offer? Well, it's time to shake things up and explore the area with a little twist. Let’s make today a Mystery Day! We’ll take you on an adventure around the outskirts of D.C. where you’ll stumble upon some unexpected gems. Ready for a day of surprise? Lunch will be on your own during the day and we will make a stop for dinner (included) enroute back to the hotel.
Saturday, October 18
Enjoy a full breakfast at the hotel this morning. The best way to see a city is through the eyes of a local guide. Today you will be treated to a narrated full day tour of this magnificent, historical city (this is a riding tour with stops at memorials). Visit the stark, black granite walls of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, the Washington, Lincoln and Jefferson Memorials, the WWII Memorial, the Air Force Memorial, the all new Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial and more! You will be on your own for lunch during the tour. We will return to our hotel following the tour, and you will have time to unwind after a day of touring. For dinner we will head over to the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City where there are over 16 different eateries available for dinner on your own from take out to sit down and subs to global favorites. After dinner we will do a night light tour of the monuments. You will have the opportunity to disembark the coach & take in some of these monuments during the tour.
Sunday, October 19:
After our included hot breakfast we will depart the hotel for the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center, one of the lesser known Smithsonian Museums and a branch of the National Air & Space Museum. The Udvar-Hazy Center displays thousands of aviation and space artifacts, including the Space Shuttle Discovery, a Blackbird SR-71, and a Concorde, in two large hangars. Enjoy a docent-led tour followed by lunch on your own at Shake Shack located right on site. We will depart at 2:00pm with an approximate arrival in the Capital District at 9:00pm. One stop each way
