Sunday August 2nd:

We’ll board the coach this morning and travel the scenic byways to North Conway, New Hampshire. Our first stop on our journey is for lunch at Hart’s Turkey Farm in lovely Meredith NH, on the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee. Your lunch choices are 1) Turkey with stuffing, gravy & cranberry sauce 2) Roast Beef w/beef gravy or 3) Broiled Haddock with lemon. Your meal also includes whipped potatoes & butternut squash, tossed garden salad with cranberry vinaigrette dressing, rolls & butter, Hart’s signature carrot relish and apple crisp with whipped cream for dessert. Coffee & tea are included, and a cash bar is available. We will then continue on to the North Conway Scenic Railroad, where we will embark on a one hour scenic train ride.. Experience the thrill of Golden Age of American railroad travel when trains connected towns and cities, ride in comfort class on one of their vintage rail cars and take a relaxing train journey back in time. After our ride we will travel to our accommodations for tonight at the Hilton Garden Inn, North Conway (603-307-1205) which offers an indoor pool. You will have time to relax after check in. Dinner will be on your own in North Conway, transportation will be provided to the downtown area where there are a variety of cafes and restaurants to choose.

Monday, August 3rd:

A buffet breakfast is included at the hotel this morning. The Mount Washington Cog Railway is the first mountain-climbing cog railway in the world and is designated a National Historic Landmark. Offering both environmentally friendly biodiesel locomotives and vintage coal fired steam engines, the Mount Washington Cog Railway is a premier destination for visitors to the White Mountains Region of New Hampshire. Today we will sit back and relax as this marvel of 19th century technology and modern innovation takes us on an exhilarating voyage through mountain landscapes and nature. Beginning at Marshfield Base Station, the train climbs more than 6,000 feet to Mount Washington State
Park. Here you will have time on your own to visit the gift shop, snack bar, the historic Tip Top House, the Mount Washington Observatory and Summit Museum. On a clear day you can see all the way to the Atlantic Ocean! A bag lunch is included with a choice of ham or turkey sandwich, and also includes chips, cookie, fruit & bottled water. We will depart after the train at approximately 2pm with an approximate arrival in the Capital District at 8pm. One stop each way.
