Saturday June 7th:
Welcome to Vacationland, the great state of Maine! Make a stop at the NH State Liquor Store en route to Maine. Upon arrival in Old Orchard Beach, you will make a stop at Harold’s where you will have free time on your own for souvenir shopping followed by time for lunch on your own. Following shopping time, you will check into the Waves Oceanfront Resort ((207) 934-4949) for the next two nights. The hotel is only a short walk from the Pier, attractions, dining, shopping and offer beachfront accommodations, a heated outdoor pool and spa and an onsite café. Dinner is included this evening at a local restaurant.
Sunday, June 8th:
Your breakfast is included this morning at a local favorite restaurant off site. Next you will travel to Portland for a Portland Harbor Cruise where you will see lighthouses, forts, lobster boats, seals and seabirds. Four lighthouses can be seen up close with as many as seven in view during the cruise including a close up view of Maine’s oldest and most photographed lighthouse, Portland Head Light. Return to the hotel after the cruise for free time to enjoy the beach and relax. A lobster bake dinner is included this evening at a nearby restaurant.
Monday, June 9th:
A full breakfast is included this morning. Then we will travel to Ogunquit for the day where you will have time on your own for shopping, lunch or just relaxing by the ocean. You may also want to stroll along the lovely Marginal Way and explore Perkins Cove. This location is a long beloved destination for generations of Ogunquit visitors, is home to artisan shops and galleries, coastal dining and sweet treats, sailing and fishing adventures, idyllic spots to picnic or watch fishing boats as they deliver fresh-caught lobsters to the dock, or to meander over its historic wooden drawbridge. "The Cove" is also home to the southern entrance of the famed Ogunquit Marginal Way. We will leave at 2:30pm and continue to the Capital District with an approximate arrival at 8:30pm. One stop each way.
