Sunday, June 6:

We are on our way this morning to a delightful coastal New England destination, Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Our first stop will be at the Heritage Museum & Gardens in Sandwich, MA. The museum is located on one hundred acres of landscaped grounds with the Auto Museum, Old East Windmill, the Art Museum, and the American History Museum. Thanks to the foresight and commitment of its founders, the Lilly’s, the museum’s collections of American art, history, industry and horticulture will be preserved for future generations to enjoy. Sand dunes and the ocean surround us as we approach “Land’s End” - Provincetown and our accommodations at the Harbor Hotel Provincetown (508-487-1711), located just south of town right across from Provincetown Harbor. This waterfront hotel offers an outdoor heated pool, free high speed WiFi, and each room features a coffee maker, mini fridge, flat screen tv & hair dryer. This newly renovated property was a Trip Advisor Travelers Choice Award Winner in 2024. Dinner is included tonight at Fanizzi’s Restaurant by the Sea (menu TBA).

Monday, June 7:

A continental breakfast is included this morning at the hotel. Formerly known as the “Province Lands” the pilgrims landed here first before they decided to settle across the Bay in Plymouth. This morning, take some time to enjoy the wonderful variety of restaurants, shops, and galleries that make this artists/fishermen village so unique. Lunch will be on your own in Provincetown. This afternoon we will enjoy a one-hour Dune Tour excursion. Ride through the protected lands of the Cape Cod National Seashore, the largest protected coastline in the country. Your driver/guide will point out the “dune shacks” where famous artists and writers became inspired to create their art. We will return to the hotel after the tour. This evening is free to relax at the hotel or take their free shuttle into town for dinner on your own.

Tuesday, June 8:

A continental breakfast is included this morning at the hotel. Later this morning, we will board an excursion vessel for an amazing 3-hour Whale Watch. You will travel into the natural habitat of a diverse marine environment including birds that migrate here from all over the Atlantic, and fish which use these shallow waters to feed. Try to spot Humpback, Minke, and Fin Whales going about their daily business. An onboard naturalist will introduce you to everything you see and will answer any of your questions about the whales, birds, fish and lighthouses. You will have time on your own in town for lunch. This afternoon we will visit the Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum. Soaring 350 feet above Provincetown, the monument offers stunning views of the region, commemorating the Mayflower’s first landing in the New World in 1620 and drafting of the historic Mayflower Compact. After being blown off course, it was on these shores that the Pilgrims found safe harbor. The Pilgrim Monument remains the tallest all-granite structure in the U.S. The institution remains committed to teaching people about the big role our small town has played in American history. We will return to the hotel after the museum. Your evening is free to hang at the hotel by a fire pit, take in one of their “dive-in” movies in the pool or take the free hotel shuttle into town.

Wednesday, June 9:

A full buffet breakfast is included on our last morning here. Today you will have the morning on your own to grab those last minute souvenirs or have lunch at that cafe you’ve been eyeing. Lunch will be on your own in town. This afternoon we will board a fast ferry for a 90-minute ride with great views of historic Plymouth Harbor and Cape Cod Bay in our indoor cabin or open air seating. The boat offers a full galley service with snacks and a full cocktail bar. The ferry will be taking us to Plymouth where the bus will meet us for the rest of the ride home with an approximate arrival in the Capital District at 9:00pm. One stop each way.
