Thursday, April 28th

Board the coach today and travel to Pennsylvania, and we will make a lunch stop enroute. Upon our arrival in Lancaster we will go to the Amish Farm & Home. Step into the past with a 30-minute guided tour through a historic Amish farmhouse, built in 1805, where life moves at a slower pace. As you cross the threshold, you’ll be transported to a simpler era—one where craftsmanship and community shaped every aspect of daily living. Your guide will lead you through the farmhouse’s handcrafted interiors, showcasing authentic Amish furnishings, handcrafted quilts, and unique Amish appliances —a testament to a life lived without modern electricity. Wander through the cozy kitchen, where cast-iron stoves and wooden butter churns hint at the hard work behind every home-cooked meal. Step into the bedrooms, where meticulously made beds and handcrafted quilts reflect the Amish commitment to simplicity and self-sufficiency. Throughout the tour, your guide will share fascinating stories about Amish customs, their enduring faith, and how they’ve preserved their way of life for centuries. By the end, you’ll leave with a newfound appreciation for the balance between tradition and modernity—and perhaps even a bit of inspiration to slow down and embrace life’s simple joys. We’ll then head over to Kitchen Kettle Village, where there will be free time for shopping and browsing. There are over 40 shops jammed full of Lancaster's simple pleasures; be sure to stop by the Jam & Relish Kitchen to see Amish ladies in action as they make pickles, relishes, jams & jellies, right in the store kitchen! Next we’re on our way to our accommodations at the Heritage Hotel Lancaster (717-898-2431 ) You will have time to relax and freshen up after check in. An Amish buffet dinner is included tonight right at the hotel. Savor garden field green salad with toppings, warm rolls with butter, Dutch chicken and corn-slow roasted chicken in a rich creamy sauce with sweet corn and buttery crust on top, locally sourced Amish sweet ham with gravy, Yumasetta (A traditional PA countryside dish -Browned Beef and fresh vegetables tossed in a hearty gravy served over poached buttered egg noodles) creamy mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables in a brown butter, buttered sweet corn, assorted pies & confectionaries. Coffee, hot & cold tea, and lemonade are also included. The rest of your evening is free to relax after a day of travel.

Friday, April 29th:

A full breakfast is included this morning at the hotel. You will have some time to relax before we depart for the Sight & Sound Theatre to see the 11am performance of Jonah. It’s a Whale of a Tale! Jonah is a prophet and a man desperately trying to outrun his calling from God—a calling that leads straight to his enemy, Nineveh. After uncharted adventures lead him off a storm-tossed ship and into the belly of a giant fish, Jonah believes all hope is lost. But in the depths, will he learn how to receive grace and extend mercy, even toward those he opposed the most? Enjoy floor seating for this epic 2 ½ hour show with a 20 minute intermission. We will return to the hotel after the show. A smorgasbord lunch is included at Hershey Farm Restaurant after the show. Hershey Farm’s Smorgasbord features both classic PA Dutch dishes and modern flavors. Enjoy our original recipes, hot entrées, freshly prepared daily specials on the Grill, a hot carving station, crisp salads and homemade soups on the Soup, Salad, Gourmet Bread & Potato Bar and our famous desserts on the Bakery fresh deluxe dessert bar. We will leave the area at 3:30pm with an approximate arrival back in Queensbury at approximately 9:30pm. One stop will be made each way.
