The world’s largest glass museum invites you to see and experience glass in mind-bending new ways. From the unexpected to the mysterious, The Corning Museum of Glass challenges everything you think you know about this amazing material. You’ll see art throughout the Museum labeled: blown glass.  But what is glassblowing—what exactly goes into crafting the stunning pieces you see throughout the Museum? Find out at their live Hot Glass Demos! Get a close-up look at the glassblowing process, courtesy of cameras located inside a 2100°F furnace and professional glassblowers that narrate the process live. You’ll see master glassmakers take glowing gobs of molten glass on the end of a pipe and skillfully blow, twist, and sculpt them into vases, bowls, and more! 

Lunch will be on your own in the soaring, light-filled spaces of the Café, which offers several dining options for visitors.  Take your food outside or bring a picnic and relax at picnic tables located outside throughout the Museum campus.  You may also choose to ride the free shuttle bus to Corning’s historic downtown Gaffer District  (also a 10-minute walk) where you’ll find additional dining options. 

We will depart for home at 3pm with an approximate arrival in the Capital District at 7pm. Dinner stop on return.

An 8% admin fee will be added to this tour at the time of booking. This fee covers various operational costs, including record-keeping, customer support, and maintaining the web site that offers you the convenience to book tours 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
