Wilkum! You're among friends in Lancaster County...the Pennsylvania Dutch Country. There is more than one reason to visit, more than one great attraction, more surprises down scenic byways, and more ways to have a great time. A healthy helping of what makes this area unique stems from the charms of the Amish. In the Amish communities, horse-drawn buggies clippety-clap down country roads; children play outside one-room schoolhouses; and a stop at a roadside stand is an experience. When you mix the old and the new, the past with the present, the end result is always "fun. Celebrate the holidays this year with a special tour to Amish Country where simple joys and pleasures are yours for the taking!

Fri., December 6:
Did you know that Lancaster, PA was once the capital of the United States, or that the magnificent, wooden beamed barns of Amish country were constructed in just one day? Upon arrival we will check into our accommodations at The Country Inn of Lancaster (717-393-3413), which offers a delightful "home away from home" atmosphere, as well as an indoor pool. Dinner in an Amish home is included tonight, and then we’re off to the Sight & Sound Millennium Theatre to see the show, Daniel. Taken from his people, Daniel is exiled far from home in the powerful kingdom of Babylon. Now this faithful servant must navigate his new life inside a palace filled with golden statues and shifting empires. As royal pressures mount, Daniel is faced with a dangerous choice. Will his trust in the one true God remain steadfast through every test of faith? From the fiery furnace to the infamous den of lions, DANIEL is a spectacular theatrical experience for the whole family. Witness one of the Bible’s most hope-filled stories as it comes to life in this new for 2024, original stage production from Sight & Sound Theatres®. Enjoy floor seating for this epic 2 ½ hour show with a 20 minute intermission.
Sat., December 7:
A full breakfast is included at the hotel this morning before we depart to the American Music Theatre to see their 2024 Christmas Show: Joy to the World. The ringing of church bells in a quaint town square sets the scene for Joy to the World. Evoking the revered holiday nostalgia of hometown America, the stage transforms into a small town winter carnival brimming with family, friends, and entertaining elves. Awe-inspiring music and dance, phenomenal voices, and light-hearted holiday humor are the ingredients for this holiday extravaganza! This year’s all-new holiday show features your favorite seasonal and sacred Christmas songs – songs brought to life by marvelous vocal talent from across the country, accompanied by the masterful AMT Orchestra. After the show we will savor a bountiful lunch at Millers Smorgasbord, and then will leave the area at 3pm, with an approximate arrival in the Capital District at 10pm. One stop each way.
