The Pennsylvania Amish of Lancaster County are America's oldest Amish settlement, where thousands still live a centuries-old "Plain" lifestyle. Arriving in Amish Country allows you to step back in time to enjoy a slower, more peaceful pace one where the horse & buggy remains a primary form of transportation, and where windmills dot the landscape, providing power harnessed from nature. On the surface, the Pennsylvania Amish lifestyle might appear to be staid and inflexible. However, it reflects a way of life that is based on a literal interpretation of the Bible, as well as unwritten rules from the Amish Ordnung that prescribes behavior, appearance and other aspects of the Amish culture. The resulting community of Amish in Pennsylvania is one of humility, modesty, obedience, equality and simplicity. Always a vital part of Lancaster County culture, the PA Amish are involved in agriculture as well as an array of businesses and cottage industries.

Upon arrival we'll head over to Kitchen Kettle Village where there will be free time for shopping and browsing There are 40 shops jammed full of Lancaster's simple pleasures; be sure to stop by the Jam & Relish Kitchen to see Amish ladies in action as they make pickles, relishes, jams & jellies, right in the store kitchen! There are plenty of samples to try and there’s no doubt you will come away with at least a jar or two of Amish delights! After our shopping stop, we will continue on to our accommodations at Country Inn of Lancaster (717-393-3413). You will have time to relax and freshen up after check in. As Noah endeavors to live faithfully in the midst of an increasingly chaotic world, can he trust that God’s promises run deeper than the rising waters around him? Returning for one season only, this landmark production takes you on board one of the world’s best-known voyages as live animals fill the stage and aisles. Set sail inside the enormous ark as this extraordinary story comes to life in this special 30th anniversary season! Enjoy floor seating for this epic 2 ½ hour show with a 20 minute intermission. Following the show we will stop for a delightful lunch (included) at Miller’s Smorgasbord. At Miller’s, they cook from scratch and prepare meals that you’ll want to tell your friends about.
