If you have never visited Washington, DC, this trip is the perfect trip to experience it!  We will be visiting some of the key places and learn a lot of history on our guided tours of Washington, DC, Arlington National Cemetery, The White House (subject to change), and The Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.  We will visit Old Towne Alexandria and the National Mall where the Smithsonian Museums are located.

Thurs, October 17:

7:00am: Bus departs Immaculate Conception Church, 400 Saratoga Rd (Rte 50), Glenville, NY. Please park at the rear of the church and arrive at least 15 minutes prior to departure).
Rest stop along the way. Feel free to bring food/beverages with you.
4:00pm: Check into Holiday Inn Arlington at Ballston, 4610 Fairfax Dr, Arlington, VA (703-243-9800). This hotel features an indoor and outdoor pool and spacious rooms with coffee/tea makers, refrigerators and free wifi.
Dinner/evening on own. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance of the hotel such as Buffalo Wild Wings, PF Changs, Stageplate Bistro, Crafthouse, and even a restaurant right in the hotel, the Silver Leaf Restaurant.

Fri, October 18:

8:00am: Full breakfast is included at the hotel this morning.
9:30am: Depart for the WHITE HOUSE TOUR (subject to change - we are at the mercy of the White House schedule) and SMITHSONIAN MUSEUMS. (Exact itinerary will be announced on the bus. If the White House tour gets cancelled, additional time will be spent at the Smithsonian Museums). See the USEFUL LINKS tab for information on the museums.
Lunch on own at the Smithsonian Museums.
4:00pm: Depart for Alexandria, VA where dinner is included at The Fish Market. Your meal choices are 1) Fisherman’s Platter (filet of fish, shrimp, & scallops served w/Captain fries, coleslaw & hush puppies,) 2) Seafood Bake (Shrimp, scallops, salmon, & clams mixed w/potatoes, asparagus & plum tomatoes baked in a foil pouch) 3) Cacciucco (clams, mussels, shrimp, & calamari sautéed in a spicy marinara sauce served over linguine pasta) or 4) Grilled Chicken Platter served w/roasted red potatoes & fresh vegetable of the day. Please make your entrée selection when you make your reservation. Your meal includes beverage, mixed green salad and dessert.
After dinner, you have time to visit the quaint shops or take the free trolley ride on King Street, the heart of Olde Town. Shops close at 9:00pm.
9:00pm: Depart for hotel.

Sat, October 19:

8:00am: Full breakfast at the hotel (included)
9:15am: Depart for ARLINGTON NATIONAL CEMETARY (included) - we will see John F. Kennedy's gravesite, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, changing of the guard and more. We will depart the cemetary for a tour of this magnificent, historical city (this is riding tour with stops at memorials). Visit the stark, black granite walls of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, the Washington, Lincoln and Jefferson Memorials, the WW II Memorial, the Air Force Memorial, the all new Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial and more! There will be opportunities to get off the bus at certain points for photos.
You will be on your own for lunch at Union Station.
We will return to our hotel following the tour, and you will have time to unwind after a day of touring. The rest of the evening and dinner is on your own tonight.

Sun, October 20:

8:00am: Full breakfast at hotel (included) & check out.
9:30am: Depart for THE BASILICA OF THE NATIONAL SHRINE OF THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION. We will attend a 10:30am Mass. After mass we will have a tour of the Basilica with time for lunch (on own) at the cafe & a visit to their gift shop.
2:30pm: Depart for home.
One rest stop on way home.
10:00pm: Arrival back to Immaculate Conception Church

Please note: This tour includes a large amount of walking and standing. Participants must be able to walk to the monuments which can be up to a 1/2 mile from our bus; as well as walk to the museums in the Smithsonian.  Those with mobility concerns are cautioned to carefully evaluate their personal level of stamina and ability. Weather appropriate clothing and cap are recommended, as well as flat comfortable shoes.


ID is required for the White House Tour.  You must have a driver’s license or passport.


We must have 50 people registered to go before September 1st.  Trip will be cancelled if we do not reach that number (trip is refundable if this happens).



Travel Insured Insurance is available and can be accepted or declined at the time of booking.  $47 per person for Double, Triple or Quad and $70 for Single.
