Meet our new location! Our 2022 winter escape destination is Treasure Island, a barrier island in the Gulf of Mexico between St Pete Beach and Clearwater, Florida. Its white sandy beaches, beautiful blue waters and gorgeous sunsets make it the perfect destination for relaxation and regeneration! Our accommodations are all ocean front mini suites with balconies at the beautiful Bilmar Resort featuring 2 swimming pools, an on-site Sloppy Joe’s restaurant open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, a 1 mile paved oceanfront walking trail as well as many other recreational amenities to enjoy. This tour features optional excursions and meals allowing you to be as busy or laid back and relaxed as you choose. Options include Mixon’s Fruit Farm, a true Florida citrus experience, Florida’s Botanical Gardens and Heritage Center, The Suncoast Dinner Theater, a Dolphin Quest boat adventure and much more! Fri, February 18:

Hop aboard our deluxe motor coach with friends, old and new, as we leave for sunny Treasure Island, Florida for a spectacular getaway. We’ll travel south to our
first night’s accommodations at the Comfort Suites, Fredericksburg South (540-891-1112). Dinner will be on your own at your choice of several nearby restaurants.

Sat, February 19:

A continental breakfast is included at the hotel this morning before we continue southbound and into warmer weather! Our accommodations this evening are at the Hampton Inn-Savannah Gateway hotel (912-921-5300), Savannah, GA. Dinner will be on your own this evening at your choice of nearby restaurants.

Sun, February 20:

A continental breakfast is included at the hotel this morning before our departure for the Florida state line, just ahead of us, and the completion of our journey to our accommodations at the Bilmar Beach Resort (727-360-5531). The Bilmar Resort in Treasure Island offers everything to make your vacation special and memorable. All rooms are ocean front mini suites with balconies. The Bilmar features 2 swimming pools, whirlpool spa, state of the art fitness room, 1-mile beachside walking trail, a beautiful Sun Deck and
Beachside Fire Pits. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served 7 days a week at famous Sloppy Joe’s on the Beach featuring 3 outdoor decks and a spacious air conditioned dining room with live entertainment on most nights. A Publix grocery store, Walgreen’s, several shops and restaurants, including a sports bar, are all within walking distance from the hotel. The Suncoast Trolley makes a stop right in front of the hotel for trips to John’s Pass Fishing Village, Corey Avenue shopping as well as to Clearwater and St. Pete Beach. Rooms include 55” LED flat panel TV’s, microwave and mini-fridge or efficiency style kitchenettes, coffee maker and in room safes. Amenities include daily kayak and paddle board rental 1 hour each day, beach trail bicycles 1 hour each day, 2 beach chairs, in room bottled water, early riser coffee service, fruit infused water in lobby, sundeck

Mon, February 21:

Today you are free to relax, settle in and orient yourself to the hotel and surrounding Treasure Island area as well as head to the pool and beach to relax by the sea! Our time in Treasure Island will allow you to spend each day on your own as you like, or choose any of our offered optional tours and dinner excursions. Dinner this evening is on your own.

Tues, February 22:

Optional Tour A: Mixon’s Fruit Farm, Bradenton, FL, where we will experience Florida’s history and cultural heritage and learn about the citrus industry, second only to tourism in Florida. Our visit includes a tram tour on Mixon’s Orange Blossom Express to learn the secrets of citrus growing while discovering a delightful new world in the grove with a stop at the Wildlife Inc. Rescue. A buffet lunch is included at the end of our tour before returning to our hotel. This evening will be at Optional Dinner 1: Crabby’s on the Pass, Treasure Island, FL featuring both onshore and offshore specialties as well as lighter food choices.

Wed, February 23:

Today you may choose Optional Tour B: Florida shopping excursion to Beall’s and Ellenton Premium Outlets. Ellenton features 130 designer and name brand outlet stores, a wonderful Florida exploration and shopping opportunity. This outdoor mall features covered walkways, lush tropical landscaping and flowing water fountains designed to provide a very pleasant shopping environment. Beall’s outlet is famous for bargains as well as Beall’s traditional mall store. This evening’s Optional Dinner 2: Abe’s Place Tap & Grill,
Clearwater FL, a casual eatery, featuring wings, burgers, fish and chips and more.

Thurs, February 24:

Optional Tour C: Florida Botanical Gardens and Heritage Village share the Pinewoods Campus providing visitors with a one stop location to learn about Pinellas County’s
history and cultural arts while discovering its native habitats, plants and wildlife. A stroll through gardens showcasing the flora, fauna and natural resources is sure to be beautiful and visiting Heritage Village will be a step back in Florida time. Tonight Optional Dinner 2: this evening is at Finley’s Irish Pub & Eatery, Largo FL serving traditional American and Irish food favorites.

Fri, February 25:

It’s Florida Flea Market Day! Optional Tour D: is a trip to the famous Red Barn Flea Market in Bradenton, FL. Owned and operated by the same family since 1981, the Red Barn combines a traditional flea market, plaza shops, food courts and open air farmer’s markets in a 145,000 sq. ft. “barn”. Enjoy air-conditioned, indoor shopping, fresh produce (Florida tomatoes!), entertainment, and a variety of prepared foods. A treasure hunt waits, as you stroll through more than 600 flea market booths and shops. Optional Dinner 4: this evening is at Quaker Steak and Lube in Clearwater FL offering an American menu in a unique, casual automotive themed restaurant. Meal choices are burgers to steaks and ribs!

Sat, February 26:

Today is a free day to relax and enjoy Treasure Island and the lovely Bilmar Beach Resort. Dinner this evening is on your own.

Sun, February 27:

First some free time this morning before we head out to Optional Tour E: The Suncoast Dinner Theater for the production of “Kinky Boots”, 2013 Tony Award winner for Best Musical is the heartwarming, based on a true story of Charlie, a factory owner struggling to save his shoe business and Lola, a fabulous entertainer in need of some sturdy stilettos. This unlikely duo learns to embrace their differences and find they have more in common than they think! On arrival we begin with a delicious buffet lunch with the performance following. Upon arrival at the hotel, your evening and dinner will be on your own.

Mon, February 28:

Today is Dolphin Day! Optional Tour F: is a 2 hour dolphin cruise with Dolphin Quest Cruises. Dolphins are such graceful beings to watch in the warm waters of Florida. Whether these mammals (they are not fish!) are gracefully slicing the waters alongside our boat or doing high jumps and spins out of the water, they are a delight to watch cut the water so majestically and also, so playfully. Amazingly intelligent, we will embark on a sail to witness the dolphin antics ourselves. This evening Optional Dinner 3: is Longhorn Steakhouse, Tyrone Plaza, St Petersburg, FL where steaks, ribs, chicken and fish are on the menu

Tues, March 1:

Optional Tour G: is a visit to Solomon’s Castle, an adventure through the back roads of Florida, as remote as they get to find one man’s life’s vision and work who figured out how to live life his way. Howard Solomon, often called the “DaVinci of Debris”, created a gleaming three story castle that pops up out of the Florida wilderness looking like a temple from a lost time. His specialty is turning junk into art, and we are off to explore this treasure! Following our tour a Knight’s Round Table lunch is included, your choice of
sandwich, salads, chicken pot pie or chili, before we return to our hotel. This evening Optional Dinner 4: is at Po Folks Restaurant, St Petersburg, where hearty, home-style cooking is served. Po Folks menu offers a huge selection from appetizers to salads; sandwiches to dee-serts; seafood to steaks.

Wed, March 2:

Optional Tour H: Wild Bill’s Airboat Ride on the Withlacoochee River features wildlife sightings including wading birds, ospreys, eagles, deer and, of course, alligators. We’ll fly like the wind through the swamps in search of wildlife in their natural habitat. Following our air boat adventure, we’ll stop in Inverness, FL at the Old Inverness Antiques Mall, a very large collection of antique vendors under one roof, with time for lunch on your own in this quaint downtown area before we return to our hotel. This evening Optional Dinner 7: is at Brit’s Coal Fire Pizza, John’s Pass FL where menu choices run the gamut from pizza and pasta to plated dinner choices.

Thurs, March 3:

Optional Tour I: Today we travel to Plant City, FL for for The Strawberry Festival. Florida’s most popular festival features, as the name suggests, all things Strawberry! View exhibits, competitions, arts and crafts vendors, free entertainment and of course, strawberry shortcake! We will return to the hotel mid-afternoon and later Optional Dinner 8: is the Roosterfish Grill, Largo FL. A casual, fun choice where the menu offers Florida fresh seafood, ribs, beef and chicken dinners.

Fri, March 4:

Optional Tour J: is a NY Yankees or Tampa Bay Rays Spring Training game! We are unable to reserve a game until December, when the spring training schedule is published, so stand by. Details to be announced! Dinner will be on your own this evening.

Sat, March 5:

Today you are free to relax, explore and enjoy your last day in Treasure Island at your own pace taking a final beach walk or to finish packing prior to our departure. Optional Dinner 9: Maggiano’s Little Italy ($TBA).

Sun, March 6:

It is time to depart beautiful Treasure Island and start heading north to the Quality Inn Walterboro (843-593-9160) in Walterboro, South Carolina. Dinner will be on your own at the nearby Cracker Barrel.

Mon, March 7:

A continental breakfast will be available in the hotel lobby prior to departure. Following our drive through South and North Carolina, we will overnight at the Comfort Inn, Fredericksburg, Virginia (540-891-1112).

Tues, March 8:

A continental breakfast will be available in the hotel lobby prior to departure. The last leg of our journey will bring us back to New York State and your homeward destinations.
