The Pennsylvania Amish of Lancaster County are America's oldest Amish settlement, where thousands still live a centuries-old "Plain" lifestyle. Arriving in Amish Country allows you to step back in time to enjoy a slower, more peaceful pace – one where the horse & buggy remains a primary form of transportation, and where windmills dot the landscape, providing power harnessed from nature. On the surface, the Pennsylvania Amish lifestyle might appear to be staid and inflexible. However, it reflects a way of life that is based on a literal interpretation of the Bible, as well as unwritten rules from the Amish Ordnung that prescribes behavior, appearance and other aspects of the Amish culture. The resulting community of Amish in Pennsylvania is one of humility, modesty, obedience, equality and simplicity. Always a vital part of Lancaster County culture, the PA Amish are involved in agriculture as well as an array of businesses and cottage industries. NEW for 2025 all passengers will receive a genuine lucky horseshoe, straight from the Amish Farmlands!

Tues, July 15th:

Did you know that Lancaster, PA was once the capital of the United States, or that the magnificent, wooden beamed barns of Amish country were constructed in just one day? With these bits of information and a desire to learn more about the Amish, we will board the coach today and travel to Pennsylvania. Upon arrival we will visit The Amish Experience for a 45 minute tour of a replica Amish Country Homestead and one room school. The Amish Country Homestead is a reflection of the Amish Experience’s commitment to accurately and sensitively portray the Old Order Amish as they live and work in today’s world. Inside the Homestead, you learn of Amish traditions and practices, plain clothing and life without electricity from the grid. The Fisher One-Room School is attached to the house and filled with authentic desks and furnishings from an actual Amish school. Learn the tradition of teaching eight grades in one room. From the pantry stocked full of freshly canned vegetables to the family’s plain clothes… from propane-powered lamps to air-compressor driven appliances…the Amish Country Homestead truly provides insights into the complex riddles of a culture so very different from our own. Our guide will answer the how and why questions that baffle visitors (and locals). Why do the Amish dress so plainly? How do they power their appliances? Why don’t they have churches? Oh, and yes, you’ll just love all the marble rollers. Next we will ride like the Amish do with a horse & buggy view! Take a 30 minute picturesque carriage ride through the Amish farmland, making a brief stop in the courtyard of a private Amish farm. Everyone will also receive a freshly baked cookie after the tour! We will then continue on to our accommodations at Country Inn of Lancaster (717-393-3413). You will have time to relax and freshen up after check in. Dinner (included) tonight will be in an Amish home. Look forward to a family style meal of two meats, three vegetables, homemade bread, and delicious homemade desserts. We will dine with Sam Lapp and his sons while Ruth and the girls serve us a family style meal. Yes, the family will be dining with us! Following dinner we will return to the hotel and the rest of the evening will be on your own.

As Noah endeavors to live faithfully in the midst of an increasingly chaotic world, can he trust that God’s promises run deeper than the rising waters around him? Returning for one season only, this landmark production takes you on board one of the world’s best-known voyages as live animals fill the stage and aisles. Set sail inside the enormous ark as this extraordinary story comes to life in this special 30th anniversary season! Enjoy floor seating for this epic 2 ½ hour show with a 20 minute intermission.
