King Arthur Flour is America’s oldest flour company, founded in Boston in 1790 to provide pure, high-quality flour for residents of the newly formed United States. More than 220 years later, they’re the nation’s premier baking resource, offering everything from top-quality baking products to inspiring educational programs—all backed by the passion and commitment of our dedicated employee-owners.  Today we will visit King Arthur Flour's flagship facility in Norwich, Vermont.  Upon our arrival, we will enjoy a one-hour Biscuit & Scone baking demonstration.  Their popular cafe has many choices for lunch (included).  Savor your choice of sandwich on freshly made artisan bread.  Choice of 1)Roasted Turkey & Cabot Cheddar cheese (Roasted all-natural turkey, Cabot Cheddar and lettuce on Harvest Wheat), 2)Brie & Apple Sandwich (on their signature baguette), 3)New England Salad (mixed greens w/cranberries, carrots, green apples, Maplebrook Cheddar curd bites and cider balsamic dressing) or 4)Garden Salad (mixed greens, cucumbers, tomatoes, carrots, red cabbage and organic Rosemary Balsamic Vinaigrette).  Everyone will also receive a discount for 10% off $40 of products. The store has plenty of room for the thousands of ingredients, tools, and pans they offer. Enjoy the baking expertise of the floor staff as you discover everything you need for your very best baking.  Enroute home we will also stop at The Vermont Country Store in Weston, VT.  Stocked to the rafters with kitchen gadgets, tried-and-true personal care items and remedies, household problem solvers, plus a wide variety of locally-made award-winning Vermont cheeses, penny candy favorites, Vermont maple syrup products, and hundreds more items will bring back fond memories. Sample the many cheeses, crackers, dips and cookies they provide.  On the grounds, take a stroll with someone you love through the Kissing Bridge; you’ll quickly learn how it earned its name! Visit the Grist Mill Museum and see the hand-made equipment once used to harness the power of water. There’s something fun, interesting and memorable for everyone in your family.
