Saturday, August 17
After a full breakfast (included), a local guide will join us as our Cape Cod summer adventure continues. You will travel historic Route 6A, the Old King’s Highway, a scenic byway winding through centuries of Cape Cod history. View the Eastham Windmill, a Cape Cod Lighthouse and visit the Cape Cod National Seashore Visitor Center on our way to Provincetown! Sand dunes and the ocean surround us as we approach "Land’s End" - Provincetown! Formerly known as the "Province Lands" the pilgrims landed here first before they decided to settle across the Bay in Plymouth. Take some time to enjoy the wonderful variety of restaurants, shops, and galleries that make this artists/fishermen village so unique. Upon arrival there’s free time or choose to do Option A) Whale Watch Excursion. Travel into the natural habitat of a diverse marine environment including birds that migrate here from all over the Atlantic, and fish which use these shallow waters to feed. Try to spot Humpback, Minke, and Fin Whales going about their daily business. An onboard naturalist will introduce you to everything you see and will answer any of your questions about the whales, birds, fish and lighthouses. Lunch will be on your own in town today, followed by free time later this afternoon. Or join us on Option B) Art’s Dune Tour Excursion. Ride through the protected lands of the Cape Cod National Seashore, the largest protected coastline in the country. Your driver/guide will point out the “dune shacks” where famous artists and writers became inspired to create their art. Dinner will be included this evening at a local restaurant on our way back to our hotel.
Sunday, August 18
A full breakfast is included at the hotel. Our local guide will meet us and we’re off on a 90 minute tour of Hyannis. Highlights include the John F. Next we’ll embark on a one-hour Hyannis Harbor Cruise. Get to know the local landmarks, popular beaches and other points of interest on your way to the historic Kennedy Compound. Admission is then included to the JOHN F. KENNEDY HYANNIS MUSEUM. The seas and shores of Hyannis Port inspired our 35th President like no other place on earth. It was here that he contemplated and accepted his run for office. Discover why he loved this place so, and how he spent his time on Cape Cod. "I always go to Hyannis Port to be revived, to know again the power of the sea and the master who rules over it and all of us." - John Fitzgerald Kennedy.
