Thursday, July 18

When you board the coach this morning you are on your way to indulge in the best of what Pennsylvania has to offer. Upon arrival delight in shopping on your own at the Kitchen Kettle Village, where you'll find over 40 shops jammed full of Lancaster's simple pleasures. A horse and buggy ride is included this afternoon as well. Next we are off to savor dinner (included) at Miller’s Smorgasbord. Their tried & true recipes are prepared with the freshest ingredients and they are still served up with a smile. After dinner we’ll go to our accommodations for the next two nights at the Country Inn of Lancaster (717-393-3413). After dinner we're off to the Sight & Sound Millennium Theatre to see the all new show, Jesus! Jesus’ story may be familiar but his actions still surprise us. He befriends outcasts and heals the hurting. He challenges social norms and confronts hypocrisy. He sets sail with fishermen and reasons with religious scholars. The lives he touches are never the same. From the streets of Jerusalem to the raging Sea of Galilee, no place—and no person—is beyond the reach of his love. After the show, we will return to the hotel.

Friday, July 19

A buffet breakfast is included at the hotel this morning. A local guide will then join us for a 3 hour tour which includes a visit with the Lapp family inside of their home where Anna and her girls will make some snacks and drinks for you while you sit and talk and get to know the family. Once our snack visit is over, our guide will continue into the countryside and talk about the Amish customs and traditions. We will visit an Amish Quilt and Bake Shop. Lunch will be on your own at the Bird In Hand Farmers Market, followed by time on your own for shopping. Later we will return to the hotel to freshen up for dinner (included) in an Amish home. Look forward to a family style meal of two meats, three vegetables, homemade bread, and delicious homemade desserts. We will dine with Sam Lapp and his sons while Ruth and the girls serve us the family style meal. Yes, the family will be dining with us! We will return to the hotel after dinner.

Saturday, July 20

A buffet breakfast is included at the hotel this morning. We will then depart for Chocolate Town USA, Hershey PA, where upon arrival we will embark on a 1 hour trolley tour with a local guide. Visit Founders Hall, the hub of Milton Hershey School, and learn the history of the town. Next take a ride through the Chocolate World simulated factory. Then join chocolate experts at Hershey University and learn the origins of chocolate. See artifacts from the world’s best cacao growing regions. And, of course, experience the sweet, delicious art of chocolate tasting. Lunch today will be on your own after the chocolate tasting experience, and there will be time for shopping in the gift shop to buy Hershey snacks. We will depart 2pm with an approximate arrival in the Capital District at 8pm. One stop each way.
