Travel with Lynn to Lancaster, PA on this classic tour, now a customer "must". You’re among friends in Lancaster County — the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch Country — where the holidays feel a little warmer, a little brighter, and wonderfully nostalgic. There’s more than one reason to visit, especially during the most magical time of year. Twinkling lights line charming main streets, countryside farms are dusted in frost, and scenic backroads lead to hidden gems tucked between rolling fields. Here, the season isn’t rushed — it’s savored. A healthy helping of what makes this area so special comes from the enduring traditions of the Amish community. Horse-drawn buggies clippety-clap down quiet country roads. Children gather at one-room schoolhouses. Roadside stands offer homemade baked goods, jams, and crafts that make the sweetest holiday gifts. The simplicity is refreshing. The hospitality is genuine. And the slower pace feels like a gift in itself. But Lancaster at Christmastime is also full of festive flair. Experience uplifting holiday performances at beloved local theaters like the American Music Theatre and the spectacular biblical production of Joshua at Sight & Sound Theatres. When you mix the old with the new, the past with the present, the result is always unforgettable fun. Celebrate the holidays this year with a special getaway to Amish Country — where simple joys, heartfelt traditions, and the spirit of the season are yours for the taking.

Fri., December 4:

Did you know that Lancaster, PA was once the capital of the United States, or that the magnificent, wooden beamed barns of Amish country were constructed in just one day? Upon arrival we will check into our accommodations at The Country Inn of Lancaster (717-393-3413), which offers a delightful "home away from home" atmosphere, as well as an indoor pool. Tonight we will savor dinner in an Amish home with Rebecca and her family. After dinner we’re off to the Sight & Sound Millennium Theatre to see the show, Joshua. From the banks of the Jordan River to the towering walls of Jericho, JOSHUA is a miraculous adventure for the whole family. Journey alongside the people of Israel as they navigate their new-found freedom in an unforgiving wilderness. When Joshua is called to replace Moses as their faithful leader, tensions mount in the midst of dwindling supplies and approaching armies. With one last fortified city standing between the Israelites and the Promised Land, unexpected help emerges from behind enemy lines and Joshua’s trust in God’s plan is put to the ultimate test. Enjoy floor seating for this epic 2 ½ hour show with a 20 minute intermission. We will return to the hotel after the show.
