Prepare to be moved as this East Coast vacation leads you to the marbled memorials of D.C., the sacred site of Lincolns Gettysburg address, and the symbolic Liberty Bell in the City of Brotherly Love. Day One:
Depart Yankee Trails by motorcoach and arrive in Washington Dc. Meet with your Tour Director and traveling companions at 6pm for a welcome drink!
Day Two:
Enjoy a delicious breakfast (breakfast included daily). Then head off on some Washington DC sightseeing with a Local Guide, including the Lincoln, Vietnam, & Korean War Veterans Memorials and Photo stops at the White House and Capitol Hill. Head to Mount Vernon for a guided tour of George Washington’s estate and gardens. Free time this evening.
Day Three:
Head to Fredericksburg for a tour, then over to Yorktown Battlefield Park, arrive in Williamsburg and have free time this evening.
Day Four:
Enjoy a private performance by historian Sylvia Tabb-Lee before heading to tour Jamestown Settlement with a Local Guide. Return to Colonial Williamsburg Historic Park for an orientation walk followed by free time this afternoon. Enjoy a colonial-style dinner at a historic tavern this evening.
Day Five:
Tour St. John’s Church in Richmond with a Local Guide, then head to Monticello for a guided tour of Thomas Jeferson’s estate. End the evening in Staunton with free time.
Day Six:
Visit the Woodrow Wilson Presidential Library before heading off on a scenic drive to Shenandoah National Park with photo stops on Skyline Drive. Enjoy a group dinner this evening.
Day Seven:
Visit Harpers Ferry National Historical Park this morning. Then enjoy a History Tour with a local guide at Gettysburg National Military Park where you will see the iconic Cyclorama, film, and the museum at the Visitor Center. This evening you’ll have a colonial-style candlelit dinner at Dobbin House Tavern, listed on the National Register of Historic Places and the oldest building in Gettysburg.
Day Eight:
Enjoy a Private Ulysses S. Grant presentation, followed by a scenic drive through Lancaster County en route to Valley Forge. In Valley Forge National Park you will tour Washington’s campsite. You’ll finish the day in Philadelphia with a farewell dinner on the Moshulu tall ship.
Day Nine:
Enjoy your last day of the tour with guided sightseeing of Philadelphia before heading back home to Yankee Trails.
