Hop aboard the coach with new friends and old, and roll out for sunny St. Pete Beach, Florida on this spectacular getaway. We will travel south to our first
night’s accommodations at the Comfort Suites Fredericksburg South (540-891-1112) in beautiful Fredericksburg, Virginia. Dinner will be on your own this evening.

Sat, February 23:

A continental breakfast is included at the hotel this morning. We will then continue southbound, and into warmer weather to our accommodations at the
Hampton Inn, Bluffton, SC (843-705-9008). Dinner will be on your own this evening.

Sun, February 24:

A Hampton Inn lobby breakfast is included at the hotel this morning. The Florida state line is just ahead of us and today we check into our accommodations for the next twelve days at the Dolphin Beach Resort & Conference Center (727-360-7011)! Experience Florida’s Natural Beauty when you visit this hotel in St. Pete Beach, located directly on the water! Find sparkling blue water, white sandy beaches, and beautiful sunshine year-round. The Dolphin Beach Resort offers everything under the sun to make your vacation one to remember. You have your choice of a Standard, Poolside or Gulf Front room. Standard rooms are not poolside or gulf front, Poolside rooms have patios, balconies or picture windows. Gulf Front rooms have balconies or patios and are waterfront. All standard and poolside rooms have 2 double beds; all Gulf front rooms have 2 queen beds. All rooms offer a microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, hair dryer, iron and ironing board and free movie channels. Today you are free to relax, settle in and explore St. Pete at your own pace. For first timers it’s your opportunity to orient yourself with the area while our veteran travelers take this day to relax by the sea. You will spend each day on your own or enjoying one of the offered options. Dinner is on your own.

Tue, February 26:

Today choose Option B: Bayport River Safaris in Weeki Wachee, FL. Get ready for the adventure of a lifetime as our River Safari takes you through narrated tours traversing thru the beautiful heart of Florida's Nature Coast. Get up close to thousands of varieties of localized plantlife, as well as indigenous wildlife such as, manatees, wild birds & the occasional Florida Alligator! We will return to the hotel for some free time this evening or you may choose Option 1: 1200 Chop House in St. Pete. Menu choices TBA.

Wed, February 27:

This morning embrace your wild side with Option A: Big Cat Habitat and Gulf Coast Sanctuary in Sarasota, FL. Founded in 1987 by Kay Rosaire, the non-profit sanctuary is a permanent home for dozens of exotic animals, offers placement for animals in need, and works to educate the public about animal care and conservation. Featured animal exhibits include: lions, ligers, bears, primates, tortoises, and a petting zoo. This evening you may choose Option 2: Hofbräuhaus and enjoy a festive German dinner at the, in Tampa, the first and only German beer hall, restaurant and beer garden to call St. Petersburg home. As a replica of the legendary Hofbräuhaus in Munich, Germany, you will enjoy an experience as authentic and unforgettable as the 400-year-old original. Your family style dinner will include: Hofbrauhaus Hahnchen (Grilled Chicken Breast with Creamy Mushroom Sauce), Beef Sauerbraten (Bavarian Style Marinated Beef Pot Roast Served with a Red Wine Sauce) and Bavarian Sausage Specialties- Smoked Krainer Bratwurst and Nurnberger Rostbratwurstl and Tilapia Filets (Prepared Breaded and Pan-Fried with Tartar Sauce and Lemon or Pan Seared with a Tomato Caper Vinaigrette. Side dishes include Pretzel Bread Dumplings, Red CAbbage, and Homemade Spatzle. We will finish our experience with Traditional Bavarian Apple Strudel for dessert.

Thur, February 28:

Today our travels will take us to Option C: The Strawberry Festival in Plant City, FL. This is Florida’s most popular festival featuring, as the name suggests, all things strawberry! View exhibits, competitions, livestock shows, arts and crafts vendors and free entertainers. Once you’ve had all the strawberries you can handle we will return to the hotel and the rest of your day is free. Dinner tonight is Option 3: Caddy’s Pub in Indian Shores, FL. You will order off a limited menu (Menu choices TBA) at the relaxed waterfront restaurant.

Fri, March 1:

History and culture are on the agenda this afternoon with a visit to Option D: Tampa Bay History Center and Dinner at Columbia House. This 60,000 square foot facility located on Tampa’s Riverwalk features three floors of permanent and temporary exhibition galleries focusing on 12,000 years of Florida’s history. They were accredited in 2015 by the American Alliance of Museums and have been a Smithsonian Affiliate museum since 2012. They are home to the Touchton Map Library, the only cartographic center in the southeastern United States, and one of only nine in the U.S. features thousands of original maps, charts and other documents dating back to the discovery of the New World. Following our historical journey we will end our day with dinner included at Columbia House, Florida’s oldest and largest Spanish restaurant in the world. You will order off the menu. (Those not choosing Option D will be on their own for dinner.)

Sat, March 2:

Today we are departing for the Wagon Wheel Flea Market. This flea market has been around since 1966 and offers a vast variety of items such as Jewelry to Lawnmowers and everything in between! After a day full of treasure hunting we will head back to the hotel for time on your own before enjoying a delicious Sub/Salad Supper, included, on property tonight.

Sun, March 3:

Today your choice is Option E, a visit to Tarpon Springs and the Show Palace Theater. Tarpon Springs is named for the once abundant fish in this area and is also known as the “sponge capital of the world”. Greek immigrants arrived during the 1880’s and were hired to work as divers in the growing sponge harvesting industry, similar to regions in Greece! This region is noted for their many bayous that feed into the Gulf of Mexico and first attracted attention as a destination for winter homes in the 1870’s! We will make a stop at the old shops along Dodecanese Avenue and in the Sponge Docks District of Tarpon Springs that thrive today as both a historic and tourist destination. We will continue on to the Show Palace in Hudson, FL. Upon arrival we will enjoy a scrumptious buffet and then settle in for their excellent production of Chicago. For those not selecting Option E, dinner will be on your own.

Mon, March 4:

This morning we travel to explore and discover an underwater world at Option F: The Tampa Aquarium. Rated a TripAdvisor Top 10 Aquarium in the country, The Florida Aquarium experience is designed to take you on a journey, starting with a drop of water from one of Florida's many freshwater springs, all the way out to the open waters of the Florida Keys. Sights include a large simulated wetlands environment located under a tall glass atrium, shallow bays and beaches, and a coral reef ecosystem encompassed in half a million gallons of natural seawater. This afternoon we will return to the hotel for some time to relax before dinner tonight at Option 5: The Hangar. The Hangar offers a wide selection of all American favorites and sophisticated selections for those looking for more unique flavors and combinations. You will order off a limited menu (Menu choices TBA) After dinner you will be on your own for the rest of the night.

Tues, March 5:

Today we are headed to Sarasota for Option G: The Ringling Museum. Walk the wire. Squeeze into a clown car. Snap photos with a ferocious (faux) tiger. Thrill to it all: the parade wagons, the posters, the glittering costumes, and the cannon that shot daring performers through the air. Wonder at the must-be-seen-to-be-believed 44,000-piece Howard Bros. Circus Model and the Greatest Show on Earth Mural celebrating the entertainment that has delighted packed houses in great cities and small towns across America for generations. Following our nostalgic tour we will return to the hotel before dinner tonight at Option 6: PoFolks Restaurant since 1975, PoFolks has been servin' up Hearty, Homestyle Cooking! Their food is craved by folks all shapes an' sizes, an’ they have a HUGE menu selection! From appetizers to salads; sandwiches to dee-serts; seafood to steaks. After dinner we will return to the hotel and you are on your own for the evening.

Wed, March 6:

Today Option H: is a Yankees Spring Training Baseball Game! They will be playing the St. Louis Cardinals and we have seating in Section 210. Dinner will be on your own this evening.

Thurs, March 7:

Today you are free to relax and explore St. Pete at your own pace. Dinner is on your own this evening.

Fri, March 8:

We’ll leave Florida and start heading north today to the Hampton Inn, Bluffton, SC (843-705-9008). Dinner will be on your own at the Golden Corral prior to check in. We kindly request that passenger’s pack an overnight bag for the next two nights, as the larger baggage will not be removed from the coach.

Sat, March 9:

A Hampton Inn lobby breakfast is included at the hotel this morning and then we will continue our journey north to tonight’s accommodations at the Comfort Suites Fredericksburg South (540-891-1112) in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Dinner will be on your own this evening.

Sun, March 10:

A continental breakfast is included this morning before we leave. We will make lunch and rest stops enroute, with an approximate arrival time in the Capital District at 6pm.
