From its very beginnings, Nashville, Tennessee grew from a foundation built on music and is known as “Music Town USA”.  On this tour, we’ll stay at the beautiful Gaylord Opryland Resort and visit the Country Music Hall of Fame, both decorated for the Christmas Holiday.  More than two-million dazzling Christmas lights draw visitors from all over the world. Get in the spirit of the season as you discover the unique and festive décor around every bend.  Our Outdoor Nativity Display features special lighting effects and an audio rendition of the biblical story of the birth of Christ. Take a free self-guided tour of stunningly decorated Christmas trees throughout the resort. Numerous country artists and other celebrities will have specially decorated trees featured. Wed., November 15

We will board the coach this morning and follow the scenic byways to our overnight accommodations at the Quality Inn in Harrisonburg, VA (540-442-1515). Dinner will be on your own tonight in any of the eateries within walking distance of the hotel.

Thurs., November 16

A full breakfast is included at the hotel before our departure this morning. We will then continue on to our accommodations for the next four nights at the Gaylord Opryland Resort (615-889-1000) in Nashville, TN, a premier Opryland hotel. Nestled in a bend of the meandering Cumberland River, this Nashville resort features an extraordinary selection of dining, shopping and recreational activities underneath their signature glass atriums. Tonight you will have reserved seats for the Diamond Rio Holiday Dinner Show. After our dinner show, we will have a leisure ride through the beautifully lit gardens of the resort aboard the Delta flatboats. After our ride we will return to the hotel.

Friday, November 17

Breakfast is included at the hotel this morning, and a local step on guide will then join us for a full day tour of Nashville. This tour will cover all the Nashville highlights, and includes admission to the Johnny Cash Museum, the new George Jones Museum, the Parthenon and the historic RCA Studio B. Visit the Goo Goo Candy Store where you will sample their scrumptious chocolate! Dinner and a show are included this evening at the Nashville Nightlife Theatre. After dinner we will return to the hotel.

Sat., November 18

Breakfast is included at the hotel this morning. Tour the Country Music Hall of Fame before we set sail on the General Jackson Showboat. Lunch and a show are included as we take in the vistas of Nashville from the Cumberland River. After the cruise you will have time on your own to shop and explore before departing back to the hotel to freshen up before dinner. Dinner is included at Lula’s Café at the Ryman Auditorium & then enjoy reserved seats at the Grand Ole Opry at the Ryman, the world’s longest running live radio program! Never knowing which artist might make a surprise appearance, it's where country rocks, bluegrass rules, and western swings. After the show, we will return to the hotel.

Sun, November 19:

Breakfast at the hotel this morning is included. Then we’re off to visit The Fontenal, the 33,000 square foot former home of country super-star Barbara Mandrell. This is the only “home of the star” tour in Nashville that you can actually go inside! The Mansion boasts over 20 rooms, 13 bathrooms, 5 fireplaces, 2 kitchens, an indoor pool and even an indoor shooting range. The Mansion at Fontanel has been filled to the brim with photos, memorabilia and personal items from the period when the Mandrell family lived there. Additionally, the personal collections of current owners Dale Morris and Marc Oswald are featured, including one-of-a-kind items, personal photos, and keepsakes of the artists they currently manage – Alabama, Kenny Chesney, Big & Rich, Gretchen Wilson and many others! A lasagna lunch is included this afternoon at the Café Fontanela, followed by shopping at the Opry Mills. Visit ICE this afternoon, 'Twas the Night Before Christmas, is brought to life in 2 million pounds of colorful ice sculptures. We will then return to the hotel to freshen up before dinner. Dinner and dancing is included tonight at the world famous Wild Horse Saloon. After, we will take ride through the Winter Wonderland Dancing Light Show at Jellystone Park. After our ride, we will return to the hotel.

Monday., November 20

Breakfast is included at the hotel this morning. Then we will leave amazing Nashville behind and travel north to our accommodations at the Quality Inn in Harrisonburg, VA. Dinner is on our own tonight.

Tues., November 21:

Breakfast is included at the hotel this morning & then we will leave Virginia and continue traveling north. With rest and lunch stops our approximate arrival in the Capital District will be 6pm.
