With a 350 year-old agricultural and maritime history, Long Island gleans its heritage from Native Americans who called it "Paumonock" or "land of tribute". Dutch settlers christened it "Lange Eilandt", and the British gave it its English name. Extending 118 miles out to sea, the Island is as diverse in recreation and nature as its five major regions. On this we'll experience some of the best of the East End of Long Island. Suffolk County is one of the oldest settled areas of the United States, with a history dating to the early 17th century and beyond.
