Tuesday, July 25:

Travel south with us today, to our destination, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania and our accommodations at the Courtyard by Marriott (717-334-5600) which is located just outside of the town center. The newly remodeled hotel located just minutes from Gettysburg's popular historic sites and features an indoor pool, Bistro and is in walking distance to Gateway Movie Theaters. We will begin our tour at the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum & Visitor Center. The Museum and Visitor Center blends the familiar with exciting new programs, exhibits and experiences, an introductory film and Gettysburg Cyclorama painting. Then we are off on a 2 hour Gettysburg Battlefield Tour with a Licensed Battlefield Guide. After our tour we will have dinner (included) at the Dobbin House. You will dine in Gettysburg PA's Oldest, Most Historic Home "...Beautifully and Authentically Restored" colonial restaurant. After dinner we will see "Abe Lincoln Speaks" and hear from honest Abe himself. We will then return to the hotel.

Wed , July 26:

A hot breakfast buffet is included at the hotel and then we will depart for Washington, DC with a Licensed D.C. Guide for a Narrated City Tour. Your driving tour highlights will include The White House, The Washington Monument, Jefferson and Navy Memorials, The Capitol, Ford's Theater, The National Cathedral and many more national landmarks. We will stop to visit The Iwo Jima, World War II, Lincoln, Martin Luther King, Vietnam & Korean War Veterans Memorials, and will allow plenty of time for photography. Then explore the Smithsonian Institution! There will be approximately 3 hours of free time for your choice of 10 museums on the National Mall with lunch on your own. Dinner tonight will be included at the historic Carriage House Inn, Emmittsburg, MD en route to Gettysburg. The Carriage House Inn offers a comfortable country atmosphere in a building dated circa 1857. We will then return to the hotel.

Thur, July 27:

A hot breakfast buffet is included this morning at hotel and then we will venture to the Eisenhower National Historic Site Home and Farm of President Dwight D. Eisenhower. Located adjacent to the Gettysburg Battlefield, the farm served the President as a weekend retreat and a meeting place for world leaders. You will tour the President's home and enjoy a self-guided walk around the farm. Lunch is included today at Hickory Bridge Farm. The "Farm" has been owned and operated by the Martin family, who has been in the hospitality industry for over 35 years. The restaurant is located in a beautiful barn that is over 190 years old and is adorned with hundreds of farm related antiques. All farm dinners include American foods that were favored by the area's German settlers and are family recipes. During lunch we will have a visit from "Mamie Eisenhower." Carol Hageman portrays Mamie Eisenhower as a symbol of her time and an ideal of womanhood that relates well to those over fifty, but Mamie's story, and humor is enjoyed by all ages. "Mamie Remembers Gettysburg" is a recollection of her first meeting with Ike, the trials and tribulations of marriage, war, politics, the presidency and their life together in Gettysburg.
