Tuesday, Sep. 5

We board the coach this morning and we'll spend our day traveling east. A lunch stop and rest stops will be made en route to Maine where upon arrival we will go to our accommodations at the Normandin Hotel (207) 934-2533 in Old Orchard Beach. Dinner is included this evening at Joseph's with a Lobsterette Greeting! After dinner, we will then return to the hotel and the rest of your evening is free.

Wedneday, Sep. 6

A full breakfast is included at the hotel this morning. A local guide will meet us downtown for a guided tour of Portland, Maine's city-by-the-sea. You'll see views of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's boyhood home, sea captain houses and the Victorian Mansions, as you drive through historic neighborhoods overlooking the islands of Casco Bay in Portland Harbor. The tour includes a stop at the most photographed lighthouse in America, Portland Head Light. After our tour, you will have time on your own for lunch in Portland before departing for our afternoon Ferry Crossing to Yarmouth, Nova Scotia! Our accommodations will be at the Rodd Grand Yarmouth (902-742-2446). Tonight, dinner will be on your own.

Thursday, Sep 7

A full breakfast is included at the hotel this morning. We will then depart for Gran Pre National Historic Site. Gran Pre is the site of the expulsion of the Acadians made famous in Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's poem Evangeline. We will have some free time to explore Gran Pre paying respects to the historic events that occurred here. Then we are off to one of the most picturesque fishing villages along the Eastern seaboard - Peggy's Cove! There will be time to explore this working fishing village and artists haven and browse through the quaint craft and gift stores. The historic lighthouse and stunning scenery in this area are on of the main attractions but we will have time to have lunch and take in the beautiful views. Lunch will be included at Sou' Wester Restuarant in Peggy's Cove. Then we will travel to for Halifax, Nova Scotia and our accommodations at the Delta Halifax Hotel (902-425-6700) which guests climate-controlled access to Casino Nova Scotia. Dinner tonight will be on your own.

Friday, Sep 8

A full breakfast is included. Today we will embark on a tour of this historic port city with a guide who will share Halifax's incredible history from its early beginnings as a Colonial Fort to its present role as an international meeting site and the economic center of the Atlantic Provinces. We will hear stories of Halifax during the war years, including the Halifax Explosion and the city's role in the recovery operations after the Titanic disaster. The tour will include the waterfront, historic downtown, St. Paul's Church, the universities, shopping and residential areas as well as Fairview Cemetery where we will visit and learn why graves of Titanic passengers are located in Halifax. We will have lunch on our own enroute as we head to Beddeck! Our accommodations are at the Silver Dart Lodge (902-295-2340). Tripadvisor will confirm Silver Dart Lodge is an excellent choice for lodging in Baddeck! Dinner tonight is included at the Silver Dart!

Saturday, Sep 9

A buffet breakfast is included at the lodge this morning. Cameras ready!!! We will depart for a tour of the Cabot Trail, one of the most amazing scenic drives anywhere in the world and maybe a Moose Sighting! Rocky coastlines, incredible plateaus, mountains meeting the sea and the shimmering waters of the Gulf of St Lawrence make this a very special day! Lunch is included at the Keltic Lodge. The exquisite dining experience at this Nova Scotia restaurant is heightened by the magnificent view of the Atlantic Ocean and the rugged Cape Breton Island landscape. Dinner is on your own tonight.

Sunday, Sep 10:

Breakfast is included at the hotel this morning. We will depart Baddeck for Prince Edward Island! On our arrival, we will visit the Confederation Arts Center at Province house and then travel to our accommodations for the next two nights at the Rodd Crowbush Golf & Beach Resort (902-961-5600). This 4 star hotel, with its tranquil setting overlooking Prince Edward Island's panoramic North Shore is just 25 minutes from Charlottetown, Rodd Crowbush offers superior accommodations and first-class service. Dinner tonight is included at this fabulous resort. After dinner, we are off to the The Guild to enjoy Canada's musical, "Anne & Gilbert: The Musical". We will return to the hotel after the show.

Monday, Sep 11

A full breakfast is included at the hotel this morning and then we are off to explore this beautiful island. A step-on guide will join us for our visit to Green Gables which has become famous around the world as the inspiration for the Lucy Maud Montgomery classic tale, "Anne of Green Gables". Lunch will be on your own at Green Gables. Then we are off to the Anne of Green Gables Museum at Silver Bush where we will visit the Campbell Homestead where L. M. Montgomery was wed and view special artifacts of the "Anne era" held dear to the author. Enjoy a peaceful carriage ride through the beautiful flower gardens and fields. A refreshing glass of lemonade and homemade cookies completes our visit. Souvenirs and samplers are next as we stop at Prince Edward Island Preserves where Canada's finest jellies and jams are made from PEI's own fruit. We will return to the hotel for time on your own to freshen up before our evening activities. Dinner will be on your own this evening at the resort or we will take you into Charlottetown for dinner and time on your own.

Tuesday, Sep 12

A full breakfast will be included this morning before our departure for Hopewell Rocks. Hopewell Rocks is a place to pause, a place to appreciate a remarkable story interwoven through time, tide, and the intricacies of nature. These are the highest tides in the world. And they happen twice a day...every day. We will have lunch on our own before making our way to St. Andrews where our accommodations will be at the St. Andrews Inn (506-529-4571). Complimented by the ever changing water view, tides, and sounds of lapping water, our inn provides you with a peaceful setting for relaxing and exploring this quaint seaside town. Dinner tonight will be included at the Kennedy Inn in St. Andrews tonight.

Wednesday, Sep 13

A full breakfast is included at the hotel this morning before we depart for our 10AM Whale Watch! Commonly sighted aboard these whale watching tours are the Humpback whale, Minke whales, and Finback whales! We will have lunch on our own in downtown St. Andrews before we depart for Bar Harbor and our accommodations at the Acadia Inn Hotel (207-288-3500). The hotel also has a hot tub by the pool for guests to relax in. Tea and coffee is available all day. Tonight, dinner will be included tonight at Bar Harbor Lobsterbakes overlooking Hulls Cove. You will have a choice of 1) Maine Lobster, 2) Steak, grilled to order, 3) Baked Haddock or 4) Vegetarian Skewers. We will return to the hotel after dinner.

Thursday, Sep 14

After our full breakfast, we will depart for Cadillac Mountain. Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park, at 1,530 feet (466 meters), is the highest point along the North Atlantic seaboard and the first place to view sunrise in the United States from October 7 through March 6. We have lunch en route as depart for home for an approximate arrival at 6:00PM in the Capital District.
