On this tour we will travel to Maine, visit St Andrew’s By-the-Sea, New Brunswick and continue to Halifax, Nova Scotia discovering their role in the Titanic’s recovery, explore ages old history, the rocky coasts and lighthouse at Peggy’s Cove, the historic Citadel, Gran Pre National Historic Site as well as the overall beauty that is truly Canada before we return to Maine with a stop in Bar Harbor. Monday, July 23rd

We board the coach this morning and we’ll spend our day traveling east. A lunch stop and rest stops will be made on route to Central Maine where upon
arrival we will go to our accommodations at the Best Western Whitehouse (207) 862-3737) in Bangor, ME showcasing a seasonal outdoor pool and hot tub. Dinner tonight will be at Dysarts Restuarant next to the hotel. You'll have your choice of several homemade entree items when seated. After dinner we will then return to the hotel and the rest of your evening is free.

Tuesday, July 24th

A continental breakfast is included at the hotel this morning as we continue on to St. Andrew’s by the Sea, New Brunswick, Canada. Our first destination
in Canada is Kingsbrae Gardens, a magnificent 27 acre horticultural garden with over 50,000 perennials in many themed gardens, engaging animals, an annual National Sculpture Competition, ponds, streams, old-growth Acadian forest and much more. Before our guided tour you will have time for lunch on your own at the Garden Café in the splendor of this historic, turn of the century Edward Maxwell Building or on the terrace overlooking Passamaquoddy Bay. We will then check into our accommodations at The St. Andrews Inn with contemporary amenities. Dinner is our own tonight.

Wednesday, July 25th

A full breakfast is included at the hotel this morning. Enroute to Charlottetown, lunch will be included on our way to Hopewell Rocks. After our tour, we will depart for the Confederation Bridge. The Confederation Bridge spans the Abegweit Passage of Northumberland Strait. It links Prince Edward Island with mainland New Brunswick, Canada. Before its official naming, Prince Edward Islanders often referred to the bridge as the "Fixed Link" . We will have time to take picture before departing for our accommodations for the next two nights, at the Charlottetown Inn in Charlottetown, PEI. Dinner will be included tonight at the hotel. After dinner we will departure for The Guild where we will see Anne & Gilbert the Musical. After the show we will return to the hotel.

Thursday, July 26th

Breakfast is included at the hotel. Visit the Confederation Arts Center, and then tour Charlottetown. Visit Anne of Green Gables Museum at Silver Bush where you will take Matthew's Wagon Ride along the Lake of Shining Water and visit Green Gables House. Lunch will be included at Chez Yvonne. Visit the fishing village of North Rustico and the Prince Edward Island Preserve Company to sample their tasty jams and jellies where dinner will be included. After dinner, we will return to our hotel.

Friday, July 27th

Breakfast is included at the hotel before we depart PEI heading for the ferry across the Northumberland Strait to Nova Scotia. To escape the notoriety and popularity of his time, Alexander Graham Bell discovered Baddeck, Nova Scotia and retreated to this beautiful place where he built a beautiful estate. We will visit the Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site before continuing to our amazing accommodations at the Silver Dart Lodge (902-295-2340), a Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence Winner in 2014! Sitting on over 90 acres this property includes a pool, beach, walking trails and gorgeous views of the beautiful Bras d'Or Lakes. Dinner tonight is included at the lodge.

Saturday, July 28th

A buffet breakfast is included at the lodge this morning. Cameras ready!!! We will take a tour of the Cabot Trail, one of the most amazing scenic drives anywhere in the world. Rocky coastlines, incredible plateaus, mountains meeting the sea and the shimmering waters of the Gulf of St Lawrence make this a very special day! We will also see the Les Trois Pignon. Lunch is included at the Keltic Lodge. The exquisite dining experience at this Nova Scotia restaurant is heightened by the magnificent view of the Atlantic Ocean and the rugged Cape Breton Island landscape. Dinner is included at the Silver Dart tonight.

Sunday, July 29th

Breakfast is included at the hotel this morning before we depart for Mi'Kmaq Millbrook Cultural Center. The facility is an excellent resource to help explain, in an interactive way, the history and culture of the Mi’kmaw people. After lunch we will travel to Peggy's Cove in Halifax, Nova Scotia! One of the most picturesque fishing villages along the Eastern seaboard. There will be time to explore this working fishing village and artists haven and browse through the quaint craft and gift stores. Our accommodations at the Delta Halifax Hotel, which guests climate-controlled access to Casino Nova Scotia. Tonight dinner will be at the hotel.

Monday, July 30th

A full breakfast is included. Today we will embark on a tour of this historic port city with a guide who will share Halifax's incredible history from its early beginnings as a Colonial Fort to its present role as an international meeting site and the economic center of the Atlantic Provinces. We will hear stories of Halifax during the war years, including the Halifax Explosion and the city's role in the recovery operations after the Titanic disaster. The tour will include the waterfront, historic downtown, St. Paul's Church, the universities, shopping and residential areas as well as Fairview Cemetery where we will visit and learn why graves of Titanic passengers are located in Halifax. After our tour, the rest of the day will be on our own.

Tuesday, July 31st

A full breakfast is included at the hotel this morning. Then we will say goodbye to Halifax as we depart for Gran Pre National Historic Site. Gran Pre is the site of the expulsion of the Acadians made famous in Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's poem Evangeline. We will have some free time to explore Gran Pre paying respects to the historic events that occurred here. Upon departing Gran Pre, we will visit a Farmer's Market as we make our way to Digby, home of world famous Digby scallops. We will have lunch (included) in Digby at the Fundy Restaurant. There will be some free time to browse Digby before taking the ferry across to St. John's, New Brunswick! Dinner is on your own onboard the Ferry. We will check into our accommodations at the Hotel Chateau in St. John's (506-644-4444), upon arrival in St. John.

Weds, August 1st

A full breakfast is included at the hotel this morning as we depart for Portland, Maine. Upon arrival we will check into our accommodations at the Howard Johnsons in South Portland. A welcome reception will be on arrival with a greeting from the Maine Tour Lobsterette - who will have a souveneir lobster hat for each passengers. There is an indoor pool along with a restuarant and lounge attached. Dinner will be on our own tonight.

Thursday, August 2nd

A full breakfast is included at the hotel this morning. A local guide will meet us downtown for a guided tour of Portland, Maine's largest city-by-the-sea. You'll see views of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's boyhood home, sea captain houses and the elegant Victoria Mansion as you drive through historic neighborhoods overlooking the islands of Casco Bay in Portland Harbor. The tour includes a stop at the most photographed lighthouse in America, Portland Head Light. After our tour, you will have time on your own for lunch in Ogunquit before departing for home. Approximate arrival in the Capital District is at 6pm.
