Join Yankee Trails as we travel to Salem, MA for their Haunted Happenings, the largest celebration of Halloween in the world! Salem welcomes more than a half-million visitors to the parties, parades, vendor fairs, walking tours, museums, attractions, and special events during the month of October. Plan ahead, put on your costume, and enjoy a month that is steeped in history, haunts, and a bit of magic.  Upon arrival our first stop will be included admission to Gallows Hill Museum & Theatre, Salem's top rated attraction exploring the Salem Witch Trials in this 45 minute show featuring holograms, live-action, ghostly projections, startling 4-D effects bringing the history and terror of the Salem Witch Trials and the ghosts of Salem to life!  Next we will stroll down Derby Square to the Salem Witch Museum (admission included).  Follow the history of witches, witchcraft, and witch hunts through the ages featuring their main presentation, an overview of the events of the Salem Witch Trials of 1692.  Their exhibit Witches: Evolving Perceptions explores the evolution of the witch over time, highlighting the European witch trials, emergence of the stereotypical witch and the phenomenon of witch hunting! Following the museum you will have time on your own for lunch and shopping in Derby Square and the Pickering Wharf areas.

We’ll depart from Salem at 5pm with an approximate arrival in the Capital District at 9pm.  One stop each way.

Please Note: Be sure to wear comfortable shoes.  There is a moderate amount of walking required on this tour.
