We are off to visit the finest that American Country Music has to offer and so much more! Join us as we head to Branson, Missouri, home to not only country music but wonderfully diverse entertainment and venues as well. Our first stop is the home of Laura Ingalls Wilder enroute to Branson where, in addition to a plethora of fabulous shows and entertainment, we will also explore nearby historic Branson Landing and Dogwood Canyon. Nashville, Tennessee is our next stop where the best of country music is found, from the Grand Ole Opry to the downtown streets and burgeoning performers! Our tour includes music, history, our 7th President Andrew Jacksons home, a backstage tour at the Grand Ole Opry, a visit to the Opry itself and just down right fun! Our return takes us through the gorgeous Shenandoah Valley where we make an overnight stop in Waynesboro before arriving home with the sights and sounds of our American Country leaving beautiful memories with us forever. Saturday, May 26:
We depart the Capital District and make our way to our overnight accommodations in Akron, Ohio. Dinner this evening is included at the Spaghetti Warehouse with choices of a spaghetti feast, lasagna platter, chicken parmigiana or grilled chicken alfredo fettuccine served with salad, dessert and soft drink or iced tea.
Sunday, May 27:
A hotel lobby breakfast starts our day as we depart for our overnight accommodations at the Drury Inn, 602 N Bluff Rd, Collinsville, IL 618-345-7700 (St Louis area and the Mississippi River). Our customers have come to love our Drury Inn stays that include their famous "Kick-Back" evening eats and drinks! For those wanting a more substantial evening meal, on your own, Ruby Tuesday’s is located across the parking lot. The rest of your evening is free.
Monday, May 28:
A Drury Inn hot and cold buffet breakfast starts our day before we depart for Mansfield, Missouri and the home of Laura Ingalls Wilder, author of the Little House books so loved by young adults and read by so many. This is where she lived and worked and spent many hours writing of her early childhood pioneer experiences. Our visit will introduce us to some of those experiences before we continue onto one of Missouri’s most famous restaurants, Lambert‘s, home of the "thrown rolls" where you will order from the menu! Our final destination today is Branson and your accommodations at the Hotel Grand Victorian, 2325 W Highway 76, Branson, MO (417-336-2935). We will have time to check in and freshen up before our departure for the Presley Jubilee, one of Branson’s original families performing country and gospel music and plain old fun Ozark comedy! Following the show we return to the hotel.
Tuesday, May 29:
Your day starts with a breakfast buffet at the Grand Victorian Hotel and includes a morning show at the Starlite Theater. The AYO-Voices of Glory, were in the Top 5 in America’s Got Talent. Following the show you will have free time for lunch on your own and shopping at the Grand Village Shoppes before a visit to the Auto and Farm Museum dedicated to the appreciation and preservation of the historic automobile as well as farm vehicles, tractors and more. We will return to the hotel prior to dinner at Charlie’s Steak & Ribs (menu TBA) and an evening performance at the Americana Theatre, Patsy Cline & Friends! We will return to our hotel.
Wednesday, May 30:
Hot breakfast buffet at the hotel. The morning includes a step-on guided tour of the Branson area, including 76 Music Country Blvd, the Trout Hatchery, Table Rock Dam, Scenic Overlook, College of the Ozarks and more before reaching Historic Branson Landing on the shores of Lake Taneycomo with time for lunch on your own and shopping. We will return to the hotel before departing for our dinner cruise on the Showboat Branson Belle. The show onboard, Celebrate, returns with a unique blend of smooth harmonies, high speed footwork, live musicians & hilarious comedy magic. Your meal is a combo plate of honey citrus chicken w/ pot roast, sugar snap peas/glazed carrots and Apple Cinnamon Ice Cream Pie. We will return to hotel.
Thursday, May 31:
Hot breakfast buffet at the hotel. You will have sleep in time before our departure for Dogwood Canyon and a Wildlife Tram Tour with an included picnic lunch. The Dogwood Canyon landscape has been left untouched leaving you able to imagine a time when European settlers first arrived or even further back to the mark American Indians left on these Missouri hills and hollows. Branson has entertainment, but it also has beautiful country and we are off to see it! Your picnic lunch will be a choice of ham & cheddar or roasted turkey w/ swiss sandwich served with pasta salad, chips, cookie and iced tea or water. We will return to our hotel before our "grand finale" evening in Branson starts with dinner at the Black Oak Grill with meal choices of Rosemary Grilled Chicken, Grilled Salmon, Mom’s Meatloaf, Pot Roast or Smoked Chicken & Spinach Salad served with Sugar Leaf Carrot Cake or Chocolate Ding Dong Cake before the fabulous and extraordinary Shoji Tabuchi Show!
Friday, June 1:
Hot buffet breakfast at hotel. It’s time to leave Branson, but, off we go to Nashville!!! We will arrive and check in at our accommodations at The Inn at Opryland, 2401 Music Valley Drive (615-889-0800) before dinner at the Nashville Nightlife Dinner Theater, where the southern buffet dinner and entertainment is sure to please! We will return to our hotel following the show.
Saturday, June 2:
Following breakfast, a step on guide will join us for a tour of Nashville including a stop at RCA Studio B where the Elvis Presley and other recording stars stories will amaze you! Lunch is included at the Wildhorse Saloon. Following lunch we will tour the Country Music Hall of Fame where legends of country music past and present are immortalized, returning to our hotel before dinner at The Backstage Grille and then on to the Grand Ole Opry for our Saturday night performance! We return to our hotel following the show. Oh what a night!
Sunday, June 3:
Following breakfast, we will leave for a tour of The Hermitage, home of President Andrew Jackson. The Hermitage is a historical plantation and museum and is the burial site of the President and his wife Rachel. The Hermitage is the most accurately preserved early presidential home and is the 4th most visited presidential residence in the country. Following our visit we will enjoy an included lunch at the Hermitage House Smorgasbord before heading back to the Grand Ole Opry for an afternoon Backstage Tour. The performer’s dressing rooms must be seen to be believed!! Later this afternoon we will return to the hotel to rest and freshen up. This evening we board the General Jackson Showboat for a dinner cruise on the Cumberland River. The food and the entertainment are always spectacular. Following the cruise we will return to our hotel.
Monday, June 4:
Following breakfast, Alas, it is time to start for the Great Northeast!!! We will travel the Shenandoah Valley to Waynesboro and our accommodations at the Best Western Inn and Conference Center, 109 Appletree Lane, (540-942-1100). Dinner this evening is on your own at the next door Cracker Barrel or other neighboring restaurants.
Tuesday, June 5:
Following a hotel lobby breakfast, we continue our journey to the Capital District arriving home with wonderful memories of the sights and sounds we were so privileged to enjoy and share.. This is sure to be a tour you will long remember.
