One of America’s greatest treasures is our National Parks…And we are off to visit some of the best….Arches, Bryce Canyon, Zion and the magnificent Grand Canyon before we begin our nostalgic road trip up Iconic Route 66 from Flagstaff, Arizona to Chicago, Illinois.  Spectacular, enthralling, and forever memorable are words that are insufficient to describe the sights, wonders and adventures that await you on this magnificent Journey!     Our Journey begins with a non-stop flight to Denver, Colorado where our Yankee Trails motor coach will meet us and we’ll spend two nights before leaving Denver, crossing the Continental Divide and entering Utah for our first National Park stop at Arches.  We will take in the grandeur of the arches, balanced rocks, spires, and pinnacles before we are off to Bryce Canyon and their magnificent Hoodoos!  Zion National Park is next where the scale of vistas is incomparable!  At the Grand Canyon, our next National Park, the views are from the rim looking out and down, but in Zion we are on the floor of this magnificent gorge looking up and marveling at what nature has created.  Leaving our National Parks, we will travel to the Flagstaff, Arizona junction with the “Mother Road” of our country, Route 66 and visit some of her iconic landmarks as today’s interstate system carry’s us across Arizona to Santa Fe, New Mexico, a stop in Oklahoma City, a detour to Bentonville, Arkansas, on to St Louis, Missouri, Chicago, Illinois and our last stop, Sauder Village and Cleveland, Ohio.   We will discover amazing relics, treasures and remnants of days gone by.  The sights to see and the memories to be made on this Journey are truly priceless, and seeing this country from the comfort of our luxury motor coach is truly the very best viewing that is possible.  Won’t you come join us as we motor coach to Boston’s Logan Airport and enjoy a non-stop flight to Denver and then travel back across this amazing country on our Yankee Trails motor coach!  We are waiting for you! 

Tuesday, August 21:

Today our motor coach takes us from our terminal in Rensselaer, NY to Boston, Ma for our non-stop flight to Denver CO. We will check in at the Hilton Garden Inn, 1400 Welton St, Denver, CO (303-603-8000). Dinner is included this evening at Territory, the hotel restaurant. Dinner choices are Garden Vegetable Pasta, Mango Chicken or Beef Short Ribs.

Wed., August 22:

A hot and cold breakfast buffet at the hotel is included. Our day starts with a step on tour guided tour of Denver that will include the mile high stadium, Red Rocks amphitheatre and much more!

Thursday, August 23:

A hot and cold buffet breakfast is included at the hotel this morning and then we depart Denver, heading west, driving across the top of the Rocky Mountains, crossing the Continental Divide toward Moab, UT. Our hotel is the Archway Inn, 1551 North Riverview Drive, Moab (435-259-2599) Dinner this evening is at the Sunset Grill where we will enjoy a prime rib dinner dinner.

Friday, August 24:

A complimentary hotel lobby breakfast is included at our hotel this morning before our departure for our first stop, beautiful Arches National Park where the lack of water defines the desert and is evidenced by the sights that surround you. We will see sandstone arches, towers and many fanciful sights created and impacted by the unequalled power of one time water. Following Arches our drive takes us through red rock and sage brush landscapes as we arrive at Bryce Canyon where the "Hoodoos" are waiting for you. Mystery and beauty surround you and leave you with a lasting impression! Our hotel accommodations tonight are at Ruby’s Inn, 26 S Main St, Bryce Canyon City (435-834-5341). Dinner this evening is at the Inn and will be a buffet and dinner show.

Saturday, August 25;

Breakfast is included at the hotel this morning, then we are off to Zion National Park, truly a wonder unlike any other. 100 million years in the making, Zion is waiting for you! There will be time for lunch on your own and Park shuttles are available to take you into the Gorge as our motor coach does not fit! Our accommodations this evening are at the Hampton Inn, 1127 Zion Park Blvd, Springdale, UT (435-627-2122) Dinner will be at the Switchback Grille, located next door to the hotel.

Sunday, August 26:

A hot breakfast buffet is included at the hotel prior to our departure for The Grand Canyon, considered to be one of the natural wonders of the world, largely because of its natural features. The exposed geologic strata, layer upon layer rise over a mile above the river, representing one of the most complete records of geological history that can be seen anywhere in the world. We will check into the Maswik Lodge South, 1 Village Loop Drive, South Rim, Grand Canyon Village. (303-297-2757). Dinner is included this evening at the Maswik Cafeteria, followed by a once in a lifetime experience, A Grand Canyon Sunset Tour!!

Monday, August 27:

Breakfast is included at the Maswik Cafeteria. Your morning is free to roam and enjoy the beauty that surrounds you. You are ¼ mile from the canyon rim! Shuttle busses are available throughout the park for your shopping, exploring and viewing pleasure. At noon we will enjoy a narrated Desert View Drive, South Rim 3 hour tour of the magnificent Grand Canyon. Dinner is included this evening at the Maswik Cafeteria. Your evening is free.

Tuesday, August 28:

Breakfast is included at the Maswik Cafeteria, and then we must leave our fabulous National Parks! There is still so much more to explore but first a stop at the famous Cameron Trading Post to window shop, really shop or just roam and enjoy some of the wonderful artifacts of this region, and then we head toward the 1,658 mile Route 66 portion of our Journey! Our first Route 66 stop will be Winslow, AZ and the La Posada Hotel and Historic District. La Posada was originally a railroad grand hotel prior to Route 66. Lunch is included at the La Posada before we continue on to Holbrook, AZ, home to Wigwam Motel #6 for a photo stop. Our next destination is the Petrified National Forest where we will visit the Rainbow Forest & Visitor Center, check out the paleontological exhibits and watch the park film before our drive on the Blue Mesa Road Loop for views of the colorful badlands. From the Petrified Forest, we drive on to the Route 66 El Rancho Motel, famous for all of the movie stars of the day who stayed there while filming those old westerns. Dinner will be at the El Rancho before we stop in Grants, New Mexico for our overnight accommodations at the Days Inn, 1504 E Santa Fe Ave., Grants (505-240-6518).

Wed., August 29:

A hotel lobby continental breakfast is included. En route to Santa Fe today, our first stop is the Laguna Pueblo where we will visit the whitewashed St Joseph’s Church and be joined by a Pueblo Guide who will tell the story of this native land as far back as 3000BCE! Leaving Laguna we will pick up our step on tour guide in Albuquerque who will take us to historic Old Town with time for some shopping and lunch on your own time before we depart for Santa Fe. Our guide will narrate our route to, in and around the city of Santa Fe including the Palace of the Governors and the New Mexico History Museum, the Santa Fe Opera House and a stop at The Cathedral Basilica of St Francis of Assisi. We will check into our accommodations for the next two nights at the Lodge of Santa Fe, 750 N St. Francis Drive (505-992-5800). Dinner is included at the hotel this evening.

Thursday, August 30:

Breakfast is included at the hotel this morning. Today is a free day for you to rest, relax and take in Santa Fe on your own! Enjoy!

Friday, August 31:

Breakfast is included at the hotel this morning and then we depart for Amarillo, Texas and their very famous, still surviving, original Route 66 - 4th Street historic location where you will have time to roam and enjoy lunch on your own. But first, we’ll "Paint our Respects" as we visit the roadside "Paint and Picture" stop at the Cadillac Ranch!! You too can leave your mark in Texas!! Yes, those are 10 planted Cadillacs!! Following a leisurely lunch and roam time we will check into our accommodations for tonight at the Drury Inn, 8540 West Interstate 40 (806-351-1111). This evening we are off to visit the Kwahadi Museum of the American Indian, where we will glimpse the culture of the people of the Pueblos and the Plains, enjoy a Chicken Fried Steak dinner and a performance of the Kwahadi Dancers, who will present their colorful pageant of song, dance and stories of the American Indian. The Museum also includes displays of fine paintings, bronzes and fine old beadwork and material culture items. This will be a unique and impressive evening!

Sat., September 1:

A hot and cold Drury Inn Breakfast is included at the hotel this morning, but eat lightly because today we depart for a true Texas experience, a Chuckwagon Breakfast with the Cowgirls and Cowboys in the West, where food, entertainment, stories of the Old West, cowgirls, cowboys and horses await!! Following our Texas adventure, we are off to visit the Official Route 66 Museum in Clinton, Oklahoma! What a plethora of memorabilia!!! This is a Route 66 must do!! Tonight we check into the Comfort Inn, 4220 West I40 Road, Oklahoma City, OK (405-943-2700). Dinner this evening is at the Saltgrass Steakhouse.

Sun., September 2:

A hotel lobby Breakfast is included this morning. Today our journey begins with a stop at the Oklahoma City National Memorial honoring the 1995 bombing victims. We will continue to follow Route 40, until our short detour to Bentonville, AR, home of the original Walmart! We will visit Sam Walton’s original 5&10 where the Walmart story began and is documented in their Museum. Rejoining Route 66 we are on to our accommodations at the Drury Inn, 2715 N Glenstone Ave, Springfield, MO (417-863-8400). Dinner this evening is at the Drury "Kick Back" zone where cocktails and buffet lite food is available, on the house. There is a Ruby Tuesday next door for those who may want dinner on your own.

Mon., September 3:

A Drury Inn Hot and Cold Breakfast Bar is included this morning. Our next stop is Route 66, St Louis, Mo, home of the famous Gateway Arch, honoring our 19th Century westward movement. There will be time for lunch on your own before we are joined by our step on tour guide who will introduce us to the history and beauty that is St Louis. Our tour will end at the Arch. Our accommodations for this evening are the Drury Inn, 2 S 4th Street, St Louis (314-231-3003). Dinner this evening is at the Drury "Kickback" zone where cocktails and buffet lite food is available, on the house. There are several restaurants within walking distance of the hotel for those who may want dinner on your own.

Tues., September 4:

A Drury Inn Hot and Cold Breakfast Bar is included at the hotel this morning. Our final leg on Route 66 takes us to Chicago. On arrival we’ll enjoy a short driving tour of the Magnificent Mile, Museum Loop and Millennium Park areas before checking into our overnight accommodations at the Hampton Inn, 33 West Illinois St (312-832-0330). Tonight the Chicago Skyline provides the backdrop for our dinner cruise aboard the Spirit of Chicago.

Wed., September 5:

A hotel breakfast is included. We leave Chicago with Cleveland, OH as our destination. But first a stop at historic Sauder Village Living History Farm & Museum, where the very first assemble yourself furniture was invented! First is an included buffet lunch at the Barn Restaurant followed by free time to tour and enjoy the simple pleasures of how "Life Used To Be"! Our overnight accommodations tonight are at the Radisson Hotel, 25070 Country Club Blvd, North Olmsted, OH (440-734-5060). Our last evening together includes our Farewell Dinner at the Radisson, a beef tips and chicken buffet dinner.

Thurs., September 6:

A hotel lobby breakfast is included. Today, sadly, we make our final drive east toward HOME, treasuring the wonderful memories and new friends we have made!! This is truly a Journey you will remember, always!!
